    I have 2 Grands--one of which is the original high-profile type. Since the RM2 atty is no longer available, I'm looking at some of the China clones which might fit this Grand. If my memory serves me, an atty needs to be 14mm in width to fit the high-profile Grand. Is this correct?

    Same here. I didn't like the long throw of the positive post using flattops, so I purchased magnets to mimic using buttontops. Did that for awhile but found myself forgetting to remove the magnets at charging time and forgetting which cells had magnets and it became more trouble than it was...

    Samsung INR 18650 30Q 3000mah buttontop is an excellent unprotected battery. Big brother to the Samsung 25R, it's conservatively rated at 15A continuous. Buttontop version is a little harder to find but I've seen them at Mountain Electronics among a few other places.
