If the issue was with short staffing blame the company that handles the ramp duties. Some places that is done by the airline and some places it is done by a 3rd party and some places (I.E. Orlando International) it is a combination depending what airline you are traveling. The government is not...
There is no reason to check it in the hold. Liquid under 3.4 ounces is fine to go. Just put it in your clear plastic 1qt bag and take it through the security checkpoint.
I dont see any issues with customs as they are not illegal to posses. As far as going through airport security just treat the liquid as any other liquid and have it in your plastic bag and you are straight. There is an airline employee on here that travels overseas all the time so Im sure he can...
Webby RIAflight would be better when it comes to rule changes for the airlines and I do not see the regulations for TSA ever changing for e-cigs since they cant really hurt anyone. Even if the FDA puts a ban on them that will only mean they are "gray market" therefore not illegal to possess or...
E-cigs are not a prohibited item. Desregard what the airline says about them if they tell you it can not go. Heating Elements are not considered a threat to an aircraft or its passengers, I let a toaster go through today. Oh, I work for TSA in case anyone wondered. I have seen a few PVs go...
Yeah they screwed their employees when they went under to. They didn't give any warning they just told them at the end of their shift that they were out of a job. It makes me mad that a company would do that seeing as they had to have known a long time before then that it was coming.
Erik if you got bag check from an overweight sarcastic officer whose uniform doesnt fit too well (I've been losing weight) then that would be me. Im there from 10am till 8pm so chances are I'm there when you are.
Radiokaos, to each their own and I understand there are a lot of people that have...
I can not speak for Canada as I do not know the laws there but if you were given the option to go out and give it to someone It sounds like you could have gone out to check it in. Sometimes the options arent given because the officer feels the item is not worth the time effort and money involved...
Just be sure you arent carrying any single bottle of liquid that is over 3.4 ounces and you should be good. The egig looks a bit more ominous than a laser pointer but dont worry about it being confiscated. At worst your bag will be tested and you will be asked a couple of questions then allowed...
I can say that CleanSafeSmoke.com is a great place. That is where I get all my hardware from. I havent tried the liquid though. Vaping my SLB 901 right now that I got from there. Great customer service to boot.
Let me apologize again because even though I am by no means the voice of TSA it is officers like that who make me look bad. I can say that there are people like that even where I work but for every one of them there are ten hard working friendly TSO's.
Better safe than sorry, I understand. For anyone wondering about what items are prohibited go to TSA.gov and you will be able to find the list there. I dont think I can post a link yet but go to the travelers tab and its pretty self explanatory.
I have tested my bottle of VG liquid before and there was no alarm. Did they tell you it alarmed for VG? If so they lied to you because the closest compound to VG it would find is NG. I dont want to go into too much detail because I dont want to get myself in trouble so I will leave it at that.
If you have any questions about security in US airports feel free to contact me. I work for TSA so I should be able to answer just about all your questions.
