Oh sure, go ahead and rub it in. :) That's EXACTLY the kind of place I envision as a summer home. :w00t:
The next time we will see 75 degrees for a high will be sometime in October.
kkay, I hate to think what this summer has in store for us. And we are just getting started. We've got at least 3 more months of temperatures hotter than this ahead of us.
Remind me again why I live in Texas. I need to be rich so I wouldn't have to work and I could have a summer home...
Sorta like crawfish. Edible, but too much work for too little payoff . . . IMHO.
Running and ducking because I know Retic and BK are gonna be hunting my scalp for that comment.
I don't have Mesquite trees but I do have Honey Locust trees down in my woods and pasture, and I'm working on a plan to get rid of them. They are just as bad as Mesquites. I'll take a pic or two of some of the thorns, which have needle sharp tips and can grow to be several inches long.
Lori, I have some Prickly Ash (a/k/a Hercules Club) trees on my property. They are just completely evil trees. Do a search for Prickly Ash or Hercules Club images and check out the thorny trunks and branches on them.
It is yet another of nature's creations upon which I have declared war...
There are no smallmouth around here, so I've never fished for them. I think northern Arkansas or southern Missouri would be the closest place to find them.
The arctic grayling were a blast to catch in the Yukon. We fished for them with ultralight tackle, and catching a 1.5 pounder was more...
No, we flew into Whitehorse up in the Yukon. The outfitter then flew us on a float plane a couple hours north to a huge lake and dropped us off and came back and got us 7 days later. We were the only people on the lake for a week! Caught lake trout (that's a treat), pike and grayling...
Lori, those noodles look great. And I'm 100% with you on leaving out the cilantro. If I want my food to taste like dish soap, I'll just add a couple of drops of Dawn after the food is on the plate.
I've read that the most dangerous copperheads are the adolescents because they haven't yet learned to control the amount of venom they release when they bite. They just give you the full load.
Kinda like the adolescent humans who see nothing wrong with driving 70 in a 35mph zone weaving in and...
You guys can keep the poisonous snakes. They're not safe around my place. I want to do anything I can to keep one of my dogs or a family member from being bitten.
General, you need some guinea fowl. They do a great job of getting rid of the snakes . . . and keeping you up all night with their racket.
I don't relocate copperheads. I kill them. I don't bother the rat snakes and bull snakes, but the poisonous snakes wind up at the wrong end of a shotgun.
They tried to soften them up with artillery. But the bombardment only lasted about 45 minutes, or so I've read. And we just didn't have enough warships with the large artillery that would have been necessary to deal with those bunkers.
I LOVE okra, but not the kind you normally get at restaurants. That stuff is battered and is slimy inside. Yuck. My mom rolled okra in corn meal and fried it really crispy all the way through. Yum!
I also like pickled okra. Love it!
General, I've never understood why they didn't equip a few of those landing craft with reinforced doors with slits in them and load snipers in there and let them take out the personnel in those bunkers, including those German machine gun emplacements.
