    Vinegar?

All the acids that we are discussing, citric, malic, tartaric and acetic are all very safe and used in almost everything that we eat or drink. If you were to eat any fruit or vegetable grown naturally by Mother Nature it would contain citric, malic and tartaric acid. Acetic acid has been used...

    FlavourArt

Some of my FA favorites are Cowboy, Black Fire, Shade, Dark Vapure, Cuban Supreme and Burley. I actually have 12 FA tobacco flavors in my arsenal. Most of my mixes contain a small amount of tobacco flavor in them. I think it gives any flavor more complexity if it is mixed with a little tobacco...

    pga and vinagar/lemon juice???

If you want to add TH I would suggest using High Powered Vodka, 100 proof and up. Start with 2 drops per 5ml and add more as necessary. Good luck! Pete

I like all their flavors but I love their tobacco flavors. I use their tobacco flavors exclusively if I want a tobacco flavor. Black Fire is a new tobacco flavor and it is really good. It tastes similar to an analog. Pete

    Freshly squeezed lemon juice

I would give it a try. I don't see a problem with doing it. The only problem you might encounter is with repeatability. The sweetness and sourness varies between each lemon. I would imagine you could use any type of citrus juice, so you might want to try them all! Let us know how it turns...

    Vinegar?

Okay...I received my test strips too! I've tried most of the tests you guys have run, and for the most part can verify that I have the same test results you proved. I know some high quality vendors are definitely using these acids in their juice. They just must not be using them to adjust the...

    Vinegar?

Str8V8ping, Since you have become the resident mad scientist for this thread (What? You don't remember? Yeah, we took a vote about 3 pages back and you were unanimously elected!) here are a couple of things to find out with your testing: I think our target pH should be between 5.0 and 6.0...

    Vinegar?

Yes bluegrasslover I believe that would be right. Wouldn't it be .00008 * 500ml = .04ml Don't you move the decimal point 2 places to the left before you multiply percentages? The point I was trying to make earlier .008% of a 10ml batch would be .00008 * 10ml = .0008ml. That would be hard for me...

    Vinegar?

Str8V8ping, I was wondering if you could do a test? Take 5ml of PG, test it for pH, then add 2 drops of lemon juice to it and retest. I'm really curious as to how much 2 drops of acid lowers the pH. Thanks! Pete

    Vinegar?

My head is not sore at all! To everyone that contributes to this thread, I want to thank you one and all for your participation. You are my motivation to make sure I have my ducks in a row. That I do my research and testing before coming to conclusions. I really try not to post any...

    Vinegar?

Dan, I agree with you again but you are missing the forest for the trees. First off I wouldn't know where to go to measure .008% of 10% malic acid solution. And that .008% would be from what quantity? Most of us replying to this thread on the ECF are home brewers/mixers. I am trying to keep...

    Vinegar?

Let's not go down this road! There are currently hundreds of websites proclaiming that our bodies pH is out of balance. They have absolutely no proof and it is mostly "Here's what we have found out and for the small price of $X.XX we will send you our book/pamphlet/e-mails that you can follow to...

    Vinegar?

You guys really do need to stop jumping to conclusions. Smooth like water? Most city tap water is adjusted to a pH of 6.5 to 7.0. Like the taste of that PURE bottled water better? How does a pH of 5.5 sound? Okay...I did some more research. This information comes straight from the FDA's...

    Vinegar?

You forgot about the nicotine. Nicotine and PG are both known germicides. The are on call day and night to kill the nasties in our e-juice! The reason for using acids in our juice is to lower the pH (Which is also insurance against nasties.) and slow the chemical reactions that are taking place...

    Vinegar?

Okay...I hope this helps. Most fruits contain a combination of citric, malic and tartaric acid. The percentage of each acid varies in each kind of fruit. The percentages of each acid also CHANGES constantly as the fruit ripens. Grapes start out with a high percentage of citric acid but by the...

    Vinegar?

Yes, I agree you should probably weigh the the dry materials but the common conversion for food recipes is 1/2 teaspoon equals 2.5 grams. So it is really a 25% solution. It seams though that the 1/2 teaspoon per 10ml has kind of become the standard here on the ECF for making dilutions. It...

    Vinegar?

Str8V8ping, You are inadvertently referring to the flavor perception of these acids. This is how we perceive the taste of these acids when we consume them. Once the pH is changed it will stay changed unless some chemical or bacterial reaction is happening in the juice. Pete
