Good night, all. Another warm-weather photo. Uncle, I agree about Daylight Savings. I don't care when the time is, just no change. Yes, keep it on Daylight Savings Time.

Wow! Rave, congratulations on the ring. Lizzie, enjoy the concert. You deserve a night out for all the hard work you do. Wuzz, I'm in the group who really hates having to change the clocks 2 times a year. It seems so pointless. Why not just have dinner earlier so you have daylight after...

How about a picture? Can you do a selfie of your hand?

Another spring photo. It was warmer today. They said a high in the mid-teens, but I think at midday, it might have been in the 20s. Or maybe the bright sun just made it feel warmer. I went to the barn to groom Penny, and she was much better about lifting that hind foot. Of course, I rubbed...

JoAnn! I'm really sorry about Spanky. It is so hard to have to face that. But it's good to have you back in Voltville. You were missed.

Maybe because they'd just dig under it? Groundhogs are great diggers. They make huge holes in fields. If you ride a horse in those fields, you have to watch for the holes, though many times Penny has noticed them before I did.

Please tell us more about it. It sounds very interesting.

Marigolds are supposed to repel bugs. If you plant them next to your veggies, less bugs will eat the veggies. In fact, they make fly spray for horses from marigolds. I think they are a special potent kind, not your garden variety. I read somewhere that the fly spray is made from African...

Good morning, Lizzie. I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor's husband. Was this the neighbor who was going to share your garden?

The vet gave me a tube of bute to use for these occasions, but I really don't want to medicate Penny just so I can lift her foot to clean it out. I thought banamine was more for colic pain and bute was the drug of choice for lameness pain. I'm no authority, though, and I really don't know why...

That's a definite possibility, but I have a feeling that it's the left hind leg, and the reason she doesn't want to lift it is because bending it is painful. The farrier looked into that and also he looked for pain in her back, but we found nothing conclusive. I do rub both hind legs, though...

Awsum, interesting that Bo's problem paw is the left rear too. That's the one Penny won't pick up. Penny is barefoot (no horseshoes) so she has booties, too, for when the ground is particularly hard or rough.

Awsum, thanks for the advice. Though you're not a horse person, you could think if it was your dog what you'd do, so your advice is valuable. You are very kind to order seeds for Trit. Did you get some for yourself, too? What will you plant?

That's what I'm inclined to do, too, and I've given it a month. Then I keep thinking maybe I'm neglecting her and just being cheap by not calling the vet. But then I picture the vet coming and poking and prodding her and not finding anything and suggesting I take her to Cornell where they have...

I just got back from the barn. Just as I was leaving to go there, it started snowing and blowing. It looks serious, though I don't think it's supposed to amount to more than a few inches. At least it's not an ice storm, though they did predict that. How that can be when it's below freezing was...

Interesting! A new word I didn't know before. I got reading about language and its cultural significance in a link. Interesting stuff.

Rave, I loved your baby animal pics. You have a bigger variety than I do. Most of mine are fawns. I don't see too many other baby animals, though some barn swallows had nests in our back porch a few years. I tried to get photos of them, but it was before I got my good camera, and the light is...
