Answers to some questions and a little update info:
As for upgrades to the 50W questions above:
They're looking at possibilities now. Nothing certain but definitely testing some stuff. Confirmed in recent discussions. They're not stopping with the current version as they want to keep it...
Thats for picking that up. Strange though my browser which is just Chrome on Win 8 corrected it...interesting. Nontheless I corrected the link.....thanks again!
They got back to me last night on the USB wire position. There's a chip in close proximity on the other side of the board to make soldering the wire from the other side not possible.
But I suggested then that when the workers are applying the glue to stress relieve that they lay the wires...
well guys I can pass it along and ask for a future change. You know that USB is probably build and on a shelf though so not sure how soon we'll see a change. But I will provide it a suggestion from the group! I agree its a great idea.
LOL Thanks!. Upgrade is official and out along with a new installer. Just quickly looking the installer file is a little bigger than the one that came with the test file but the firmware looks the same. Will check out both today.
Files are linked on our site here varitube.com as well as...
Status Update: Best I know is the official 50W version will be released early morning June 30 EDT....which happens to be my birthday! lol Don't know if they tweaked anything. Normally I would release the one I have a little early but the fact they are not already uploaded and need approval in...
No not a newsflash here. You're on a suppliers thread for varitube.com....not an issue and no worries. But its a test version so we're not inclined to release it. We've had the ok to share it for folks with problems. The bugs are minor nuisance such as 36.1W max with no atty...
OK that makes sense....depending on the vintage of the chip you definitely are better off pulling the battery. Some of them wouldn't even take the 35W upgrade until they fixed it in the 50W....which was the point of the early 50W we got here :)
before everyone starts questioning the file Jesi is sharing is the same file we have had for testing. I have not been in contact with them this weekend. I asked them to fix a couple bugs I saw but not sure what their intent is at this point. You could PM him or wait for the official release...
Hey Kevinn.....you were forgetting to follow the very final step in the instructions. You did initially but when you started playing with all the upgrade, downgrade, upgrade you dropped the final step. Go back into Link again and let it cycle through. Its like pulling your battery. But in...
Well what I have also heard..(I hear alot of stuff:)) is that because it is press fit in the wall thickness in that area of the box is very thick....they built it up so it could be drilled and press fit in. If correct then you're going to have a problem as the connector wont reach through...
Only thing I will add is to check that 510 connector. I have not had one of those clones in my hand but I have heard that the center pin is very wide and its possible to short the connector when you screw n something like a protank ... the wide center post of the connector makes contact the...
I talked about this already Dejay and gave specs.....it will not be available to the DIY market....at this point they want only high volume modders in the USA and Europe. Everything is subject to change but right now the points from Mastblast are the latest info provided by YiHi. I also...
Update!:
I have the 50W and have been testing. Its not for release guys so please hold off. We'll get it out soon. We have a couple guys who had problems taking the 40W upgrade and the fix for the older boards not taking the 40W was put into the 50W so they are testing the 50W now as...
