    The best answer I have is that she's seeing a good therapist and I keep being her mom and I watch her continue to be the caring, compassionate young woman I am so proud of. She is quick to defend people she doesn't even know when she sees them being mistreated and she's retained the confidence...

    I don't either. It's a helpless feeling as a parent. Her new school seems to be a different environment as far as the kids putting peer pressure on each other not to bully so I'm hoping we are done with this.

    We have had a terrible time with it here. My 14 year old has been absolutely tortured emotionally and physically assaulted more than once. This last time was something I still can't wrap my head around.

    That sounds like a great exercise to combat bullying. Have people who have overcome it read their teenage thoughts to kids to show the impact it had and also to show the victims that even though it feels like forever, it's not. Yours sounds like a different context though.
