There's a few places that sell 10% (100mg/g=10%) nicotine, but I can never seem to find one when I need it. :P It's not terribly difficult to get up to 40% nicotine to use as pesticide, but I'm not sure that would be the sort of quality you'd want to vape.
Just to be safe, most vendors don't...
Don't pick your nicotine strength based on how much or what flavor you liked to smoke, figure out what strength you like to vape. People who smoke multiple packs a day of unfiltered/wide cigarettes sometimes need the stronger nicotine strengths to be able to "feel" anything at first, but...
$80 for an eGo-T kit and 3 large bottles of e-liquid is quite reasonable. Of course as others have pointed out, there's always a better deal somewhere.
It's good to a have a voltmeter for troubleshooting--usually to check the resistance of an atomizer. Checking the voltage at the connection is a decent way to check your battery strength, but when placed "under load"--that is to say, when actually in use, the actual voltage will be a bit lower...
Like I mentioned above, the dualcoil cartomizers DO work at higher voltage...and they work pretty well at 3.7V too--thats one of my favorite things about them. If I want a thicker/warmer vapor than I'm getting from the dualcoil at 3.7V or on a eGo battery, I can use the same cartomizer at 6V...
Generally speaking you don't want to use any atomizer or cartomizer rated less than 2.5Ohms on a 5V mod. 5V is already considered "high voltage" and using most low resistance atomizers/cartomizers will draw too much power, give a burnt taste, and probably destroy the atomizer. The dual coil...
The 510 is still one of the most popular models. I do recommend an eGo or similar for the extended battery life and ability to keep up with low resistance atomizers/cartomizers, but if you want something the size/shape of a cigarette, its never a bad idea to start with a standard 510 knowing...
Because the Silver Bullet does not have a specific vent hole, it is very important to only used protected batteries but if a battery does ever vent in the silver bullet, I believe it does have enough ventilation that it should not be seriously dangerous.
The resistance of most atomizers is determined by how much nichrome wire is used to make the heater coil. The popular new "Dual Coil" Cartomizers actually have 2x3ohm coils wired in parallel for a total resistance of 1.5ohm.
Right on both counts. A 1.5ohm "low resistance" atomizer at 6V runs at up to 24Watts which will kill most atomizers--6V actually works (and very well) with the dual coil cartomizers since the load is split between the two coils and there is enough surface area to create a thick warm vapor--but...
You may be able to find these a bit cheaper somewhere, but AvidVaper has pretty good prices on each of those suggestions:
Joye eGo-T 1000mAh XL Battery - Avid Vaper
Cisco LR306 1.5 ohm Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper
eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - Avid Vaper
Drip Shield Cone - Avid Vaper
You probably need to drip just SLIGHTLY less. If I have an atomizer that gets like that, sometimes it helps to "blow it out" and start over. Everyone has a different technique, but what I do is stuff the corner of a paper towel or napkin into the 510 atomizer and then blow through the battery...
The Alpha Ultramax is definitely nice looking, but I'm not familiar with it and it seems a bit expensive for a mod that doesn't have variable voltage and doesn't appear to be large enough for 18650 batteries. The 17670's are almost as large, but not as common and don't have the capacity of the...
The Tenergy RCR123a LiFePO4 3.0V batteries do a great job. I've been using them for 6V for over a year and haven't had any trouble other than needing to occassionally replace a pair. They do indeed have a protection circuit that detects if the battery is failing and "kills" it before it can...
It helps to consider how much you are vaping. Most people use less than a teaspoon (5ml) of liquid per day. Propylene Glycol vapor is a known germicidal air sanitizer and we're talking about a very tiny amount--even with heavy use. Even with up to 3% nicotine, there's just not a whole lot of...
It seems odd, but adding menthol to fruit flavors is fantastic! I didn't usually care for the mediciney flavor of menthol cigarettes, but I love the way that a bit of menthol makes fruit flavors taste "cold" and improve the throat hit. Here's a video showing how to make your own:
Yeah. It takes a little bit of practice to figure out how much liquid you can drip without flooding it. On a brand new atomizer, it might take several drops to get very wet, then simply add 1-3 drops any time the flavor seems to fall off. That's the purpose of the "drip tips", besides...
