I would use a length of mesh 3 x 10cm. Roll without a center hole. You can quench and juice up the wick as you have been. The thicker denser wick holds more juice.
There is a learning curve to getting the DID if you read through this thread you will find all kinds of mesh oxidizing tips. The shorts are operator error and not device. The air inlet hole is pretty standard. It is an easier draw than cartos and the draw is very quick to get used to. Many of us...
I bought the fundraiser stand that was donated and it arrived today.....WOW stunning work. I love it.

Thank you so much.
I added my comments in red.
I have a multimeter.....but have NEVER used it for anything other than testing my batteries as they come off the charger. So iI have no idea how to use one.
I use a plumbers blow torch. I cut a strip about 4" long - the depth I guard by using the DID beside me. With the mesh unrolled I torch it - go over it quickly, just a couple is seconds per section. I do this front and back. Then roll it tight - with no center hole. You can at this point retorch...
Sounds like something is touching, is the top cap on when this happens? The DID has a different positive base....could this be rocking on the positive pin on the PV making getting an accurate reading difficult.
You can just do the JF and roll then do juice burns.
Another thing you might try if you have some 400 mesh is to make a solid wick. Cut your mesh 4 or 5 inches long, do the JF then roll it tight. No need to worry about a hole down the middle. This will make a very sturdy wick that holds a lot...
I think you are torching way too long. When I do the jack frost I only torch for a few seconds, I let the sheet glow red them move to another section. I turn the sheet over and repeat. Torching is literally only a few seconds.
Here is what I just tried the other night a d it worked great...
Well I believe I have a great setup now. Using 500 mesh rolled tight with no center hole. Using Jack frost. I rolled the wick, then wrapped a 28ga 6 coil wrap (1.2 ohms). Vaped lovely, the extra coils really do make for more vapor. Wicks perfectly.
As an fyi I purchased some ceramic wick from...
Here is my experience with wicks so far......I run mostly 50/50 pg/vg
500 solid wick ...works great at higher voltages. Have to do a really low ohm coil to get enough heat with my 3.7 ggts and roller (which the Provari doesn't like). Solid wick is awesome on the orion and Katana btw.
500 as a...
If you are going to try the 500 mesh I would roll a solid wick (works much better than having a hole in the middle). I use the jack frost method and the roll tightly by hand....no paperclip or anything. If you have too much mesh in the roll you can always unroll a bit and cut it off until you...
The GGTS is a very solid build. Heavy and slightly on the long side. The roller pumps out the power about the same, it is a lot lighter and a outline bit shorter than the GGTS.
The roller is much easier to twist and go versus the GGTS which is created by multiple pieces.
Droppable factor ....I...
On a bad coil day I have resorted to using silica. Taste was great. I have ordered some ceramic wick and will be trying that. One of the beauties of a DID is the versatility.
