The mini gave me trouble for a while. I eventually rolled my solid wick....wrapped it with 30 awg 5/6 wrap, then torched the wick and coil together. Installed the wick and snugged up the coil. Then fired. Make sure you have a long ground on the mini. While firing mess with the coils start with...
Why do you need to clean so often? .....Uma did you teach him to melt liquorice then wrap wire around it? I dry burn mine periodically. I was looking at one of my wicks today that is pretty gunked up (vaping 100% VG), I gave it a quickie paper towel wipe and will dry burn when I empty the tank...
1st choice is the real DID from mm vapors. Reasons.....large wick hole allows form thicker wick and no dry hits. Can leave screw in fill hole and take it anywhere and it won't leak. Maker is very active on the forum. No waiting lists. Air hole always lines up with the wick. High quality...
If you seal in the coil completely I would think there would be pressure build up generated by the glowing coil producing heat and expansion/contraction of the coil. I think over time this would weaken the glass tube.
I believe the wick is going to wrap around the glass and not in it. The NR wire would have to be fed through the mesh somehow if he shortened the tube. In his current model it is using the bottom of the tank for the ground.
You would only need the bottom sealed wouldn't you? How about wax. If you get the plain old candles drip a drop or 2 in there. Or you could do a clay. I think the brand is fimo not toxic oven cure. I used to make all kinds of crap with that stuff when I was a young in. Interested to see if the...
Denture cleaning tablets work a treat. I use equate version of the polident 3 minute soak. Put 1 tablet in 4 oz water leave for 10 minutes or so and voila shiny clean.
You could twist the 36 awg wire, it will lover the resistance but more importantly make the wire less likely to pop so quickly. I wish my wire as follows.
Cut a length of wire about 6ft. Double it and pop the loop over the knob on my dining room chair. Tuck the other ends into a drill holding...
My cobra is undoubtedly my most difficult genesis. I do have it running well right now. I have a semi solid 50mm wick in it. I use 500 mesh. I have 30 awg with a 4/5 wrap 1.5ohm at 4 volts. I ended up having to make the coil on the Allen wrench that came with it, then pulsed and fired the coil...
I bought it to try. It did not stand up to the firing test. You have to scrape off the coating for the positions and negative connections. I still got a hot spot at the top. As soon as the hot spot showed up the rest of the coil went to crap. I was using it on a completely unoxidized wick though.
There will be a tiny bit of adjustment room with tightening or loosening the top on the DID. I would put the DID together but not make that final twist of the top and bottom caps until you have the DID on the pipe. Then do the final tightening stopping in your preferred position.
I always keep the fill hole plug in. My ZAP I have a small piece of loosely rolled mesh plugging the fill hole. Same for the Cobra. I roll solid wicks 80 to 100mm with 500 mesh. I make sure there is a little gap around the wick to prevent vacuum issues. The only atty I have a dry hit issue with...
