Here's a post (with pic) of prototype REO Grand #1 that Robert posted. Still in use :) And the pic:

    Rob's REOs

You're probably right. I'm sure he's got so much extra time on his hands, that he needs to drip or fiddle with tanks just to keep himself busy.

    Mission accomplished #5

Exquisite! and, I gather, MOST satisfying :) Gratz on your score.

    unflavored juice question

Halo Fusion's unflavored works out to $400.00 for the same strength/amount you can get from MFS for $40.00 (plus roughly $15 for some VG/PG to dilute it with). I initally bought beakers/syringes/etc. to measure with, but I saw where Super-X used translucent condiment bottles (think...

    Warm battery

I've heard of excessive heating due to intermittent contact. If you're using a button cover, make sure it hasn't slid down on the switch so you don't get good contact. Just a thought, it's all I can come up with :)

    Warm battery

My VTC5's don't get noticably warm when I vape, but I'm running a 1.8 ohm coil. What resistance are you running?

    unflavored juice question

Or, you could do like I do and buy 24mg from MyFreedomSmokes, then dilute it 50/50 with VG or PG to make it 12mg. Mixing half nic juice and half VG or PG is easy and saves a TON of money :)

    Rob-isms

That deserves 2, really. Both the "boo boo" part, and the lines about filing the contacts. It's a double, for sure! :)

    Suggestions for an ohm meter?

I recommend this for building coils and testing them (without the battery): It's quite stable if you place it in one of these (I got mine from J-Wraps):

    What is Noalox ?

Noalox is used to reduce oxidation on the firing pin. But if you have the gold colored ones, it's not needed unless you vape below 1.0 ohm. In that case(if you have the gold spring/firing pin), deoxit gold is recommended. How often depends on how low your ohms are. It's also more likely to...

    Battery maintenance

I'm curious, FB, my 18650 flashlight doesn't appear to have any sort of vent to allow gases to escape in the event of thermal runaway, do yours? And if not, does it concern you? (It does me, thermal runaway isn't pretty)

    Battery maintenance

I'm curious now. Back to the original question. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I'm given to understand that as batteries age they are less able to hold a charge, or the charge won't last as long, not become disasters like this one. Does anyone know if aging batteries are more...

    Reo Alternative

Um, you are correct (and I'm not...again lol), however, you also make a good point about the protected batteries, they are longer and that's another good reason not to use them. ETA: fixed the first post to be a bit less misleading :)

    Reo Alternative

The key here is "IMR" IMR is NOT the same as "regular" Li-ion, they use different chemistry, and so the "safety" is built in, rather than depending on a "protection circuit", which can, and does, fail. IMR="SAFE-CHEMISTRY" ETA: Fixed my previous misinformation

    goofy feeder tube question

It's supposed to be superglued to the "nubbin", however, it's also possible the "nubbin" is loose (it's a screw on to the 510 connector). Since the tube is already disattached, I'd carefully remove the screw in the front of the delrin cover (the black part at the top), and grab it (the...
