    Guess your not the only with a bad unit. The Erlkonigin is shorting out on me as well. I cleaned the crap out of. Remove the AFC completely and was able to fire the coil but got shorted again :(.

    Mines is made out of cardboard box. Cut squares on the side and top. Went to Walgreens and got white tissue gift wraps and a poster board for under 2 bucks. Put the tissue paper on the squares that are cutout and the lamp on top.
