I'm not sure I wanna know what a pizza that has a shelf life of 3 to 5 years at room temperature tastes like.

Nope. They're mostly pate's and resemble dog or cat food in taste, smell, and consistency. Worst of all, they come in a box that is impossible to pack efficiently and they're so heavy they're better suited as a weapon than a meal. They also have tea light candle heaters, lol.

Back then, ours had freeze dried strawberries and peaches. Packages of Brach's caramels, chicklets gum, chocolate bars, Tasters Choice coffee, and the ever present miniature bottle of Tabasco Sauce, among other stuff. The newer tan ones aren't as good, but still not bad.

First off. It's what was sent to NOLA. There are lots of "MREs" made for the public that are used by FEMA and can be found in surplus shops, survivalist shops, etc. that are not the same as we are issued. Many parents would buy these for their children to bring on Boy Scout outings...

I don't do pre-orders any longer. The last one I got in on was the original Ammit through Breazy. I would've gotten sooner if I had waited, and just ordered when they came in. About 3 weeks sooner. I was not a happy camper.

They've actually gone downhill slightly. The older MREs were actually better. They're also designed for high caloric demands, and because of this can render the atmosphere around a group that has been eating them unbreathable.

I have 4 statements I tell young 'uns all the time: 1. You don't have to respect the man, but you WILL respect the rank. 2. You don't have to like it, you just have to do it. 3. The only easy day was yesterday. 4. Think before you speak. You might be summing up your entire career with your...

You'll notice I said historically. I would never disrespect the Office Of The President Of The United States with any form of criticism. Publicly or privately. As many a DS has stated, my job is to help preserve Democracy, not practice it. :)

There are more High School and College graduates in the US Armed Forces per capita than anywhere else in the United States. Education is not only encouraged, it is rewarded in the US Military.

Here they are placed where leases are cheap and in high traffic areas, preferably "foot" traffic. They are also placed in areas where the traffic is 'recruit age' appropriate. More recruits are had by visiting High Schools and Colleges than from any 'off the street traffic'. The US Armed Forces...
