    Australian Tobacco Alternatives Consumer Association

Member Requirements: Anybody can become an ATACA member. However with plans to incorporate soon (making us a lot more "legit" in the eyes of government bodies) there are a few requirements that we thought we'd start right away instead of having to chase it all up later. * Your ATACA...

    Australian Tobacco Alternatives Consumer Association

After months of planning, a small leave of absense due to the birth of my baby girl, and a lot of hard work I'm proud to say that Australian now has it's very own e-cigarette consumer association! The following is our official blurb: ATACA is made up of everyday Australians who are concerned...

    Are there many active Aussies?

I have to disagree with this one. AussieVapers | The original Australian e-cigarette community is very lightly moderated unless you do something really stupid, or seriously piss people off. I've been there for almost a year and the only time I've even had a post removed was when the thread...

Just had surgery ... thought this was awesome!

Awesome tale. Back in July when my daughter was born, the mid-wives, nurses and doctors were all curious (well, those who hadn't heard of them yet anyway). They even let me vape in the delivery ward!

Good News for our Good Friends Down Under

You've hit the nail on the head with the last few lines. It is true that second hand smoke has never been proven to influence cancer rates (if fact, taken as a whole, the evidence would suggest ETS is no worse for you than car exhaust levels in a suburbian area) but it's not the science that...

Good News for our Good Friends Down Under

To the two points above: 1. If the law starts swaying towards prefilled cartos only, then an idea might be to focus on the massive waste problem that creates. It's bad enough with ciggie butts being little toxic bombs, cartos would arguable be worse. Also flys in the face of recycling efforts...

Good News for our Good Friends Down Under

Hate to break the bubble, but this is old news dressed up as a new press release from a vendor. The original comments were from May last year: The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: New Zealand Ministry of Health Declares that Electronic Cigarettes are Safer than Tobacco...

    Are there many active Aussies?

I think there is a common thread happening here. So many of us come to ECF to read, but with so many posts it's easy to get lost. I think AVF is where it's at for the chatting :)

URGENT! Cattaraugus County, NY Call to Action

Heya Kristin :) I know I'm being overly pedantic, but the way the law is written wouldn't prevent e-cig usage since its not possible to smoke one ;) I know that's not how THEY see it...just saying.

    Are there many active Aussies?

What did you say?!? I'm a regular on AVF and apart from outright spam and the occasional thread being locked for "religious debates" (GG discussions often end up that way) I've never noticed any real moderation. Unless you mean Whirlpool, in which case yes, it's useless for ecig discussion.

The law on E Cigarettes in each state

It's good to see that the TGA is doing a little less bulls-hitting these days and actually acknowledging that the only possible restrictions to personal imporation would be at a Customs level - and there are none. Check out this for a letter from Customs. You'll never get a response to your...

Where Are The Chain Vapers At?

The only side effect I've found from my chain vaping is that all my clothing smells like JW's Purple Crunch or Ultimate Pipe after a day or so. Not that it's a BAD thing, just funny when you walk passed somebody and they're like "Oh! What's that wonderful sweet smell?" ;)

    Humongo-Bungo SALE @ GP!

Hi everybody, S. Nolan here, the guy who runs SMOKESCREEN and admins the ATACA site. There are no Federal laws preventing nicotine importation. There are state laws, but these only apply if it's Schedule 7 nicotine. eJuice used to help quit smoking is Schedule 4 which does technicaly mean you...

Where Are The Chain Vapers At?

Guilty as charged. Started with 510s and eGos running 24mg. Got down to 18mg pretty quick, then bought a Provari and learnt how to make Gummy Tanks. I run at 12mg and my "sonic cigarette" rarely leaves my hand ;)

This is why we are screwed.

Luckily we don't have to stealth. There are no laws against the e-cigs themselves, only laws preventing local sale of eJuice with nicotine. Many of our health authorities try and make out that it's illegal to have nic juice at all, but the actual law doesn't agree with them. We're allowed to...

This is why we are screwed.

What's really crazy is despite all the evidence, local sale of snus is also illegal down here and if you import it, chances are you'll get hit with the same massive tax as importing smokes (around $400 per kilogram)! Our government makes huge noises about wanting to reduce smoking rates, but...

This is why we are screwed.

A pack of Malboro 25's will set you back up to $18 at a petrol station and about $16 at the supermarket. Some petrol stations have a deal where you get two packs for $33. So glad I switched to vaping. I still smoke a bit, but a pack lasts me a week now instead of a day!

In Australia I'm thinking a pack of Malboro 25 will hit $20 within the next 2 years...

This is why we are screwed.

I'm curious as to what substances you're referring to. The only one I've found is ... and it's so hard to prepare a stoner would never bother. I'd also be interested to know if using/selling a Provari or Buzz would be OK in Singapore since you'd never confuse one of those for a cigarette...
