hmmm, not sure. The last one I used did have a crack in the base when I first opened it and it did start to creep up the side, but I managed to burn the filler on it and tossed it. So maybe they aren't that durable afterall! Good point lol. I don't use them often, I mainly use my reo now, but...- charady

Any chance you will carry the clear plastic EMDCC's in the future? I bought some on another site after watching a review-they are easy to take apart so you can actually clean the filling (without just boiling/running water through like other cartos).
