I'm having the same problem, going into lock and a couple of times going into setting menu. I thought it was my switch also but changed that and still doing the lock up.
OneDesign, any ideas?
That's the one all right. It didn't occur on me about the amp limit. But at least now I know what the problem is. Now to decide if I want to limit myself to under 25 watts, go to a bigger amp battery (and have to rebuild the box) or try to find a higher amp Lipo pack. Decisions, decisions...
I'm using a Lipo battery pack:Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 4400 mAh Rechargeable Battery module with PCB that I got from Amazon.
the firmware version is 2.4 and no battery spring, it's straight wired to the positive side of the board and the negative is soldered to the negative side of the 510 connection.
I've been trying different devices today and have run into a problem that I can't figure out.
I started using a Tugboat, with a .5ohm, dual coil at 20 watts. I was able to run it up to 25 watts but then the chip shut down on me. I had to disconnect the battery to get it back up. Tried it...
I agree on the board being overlooked. And I would also be interested in doing a group buy for the box. The Hammond box is ok just a little on the big side. I'd like to do another mod but use 2 26650s in it but I hate the price that Shapeways wants for their lid.
Thanks Vlad, it's a Hammond 1590 box, I sanded the sides down to try and make it sit level. I did a mechanical box using the same one and it drives me crazy when I set it down. And I learned not to order a box with ribs on the inside, had to do some modifications to get the chip to set right...
Finally was able to finish my very first mod. As you can tell, it's not very pretty, still need to clean up the inside some but it rocks! Right now I have a Tugboat on it, running at .5ohms with some 28 gauge dual coils at 20 watts and I like it!
Had a few bugs that I had to work out but...
Well, I'm waiting for the paint to dry and then it's time to start assembly on my mod. I'll post pics as I move along.
But have a question and I'm sure it's been asked before, just too lazy to search the thread. Is it better to connect the negative lead to the battery or better to ground it...
I was having the same dang problem and was directed here:Download - SXI-60W-software-20140808
After I loaded the update from YiHi, I had no problem getting my chip updated.
I've dealt with VaporTek for a long time and I am able to visit their B&M. They are a very reputable company, take pride in what they offer and will do their very best to make sure you are happy with any purchase you make with them.
As I've been following this thread, I've noticed several people want to use silicone wire for the hook ups. I ran across this today :Silicone Wires - Accessory. I ordered some yesterday, shipped today. I will not be able to evaluate it until I return from vacation, that's also the first time (I...
