5 hits per drip, normal?

You should search more on local online markets before asking here. I know it's convenient but remember, convenience to you also means convenience to the government. Chances are not many locals uses kanthal and narrowing down a hunt will be much easier. Trust me. Popular market sites have a few. -

No need for fancy tools. I just use those cheapo $2 flat needle nose and round tip pliers. My builds are all macro coils, about 3mm diameter, 26gauge, 8 to 12 wraps depending on my liking. Get them nice and tight, but be careful of flexing during your first dry burn of the coil. Cotton, I'm... -

Need advice on better mod
I'm using a dual 18650 DNA30 with a clone Stillare dripper. Vaping at 30W and 70VG is a blessing to my lungs. I'll recommend something a long the lines of DNA30. Don't settle for lower end APV that boasts VV/VW. Get the top of the line electronics like DNA20/30 chips. They don't come cheap... -

My lowest was 0.2-0.3 on my valkyrie clone. Single coil parallel build with 28gauge. Vapor production is off the charts. But can't even come close to my dual 18650 dna30 mod now. How to gauge the ohm when coiling?
I get what the OP is asking about. To build a typical micro/ nano coil, I use about 4" of kanthal around a 1.4mm screwdriver. Gives me about 0.8ohms for dual coils at 10 wraps consistently. Every less wrap will drop resistance by 0.1ohms. You'll need to keep coiling, at times hours on... -
