    what has been said already + When you "compress" the coil it sounds like you're using a bit too much cotton. You want it to be free to move back and forth inside the coil, but just barely. It shouldn't tug the coil when you pull on the wick, and the wick shouldn't bunch up when pulling it...

    on a fully charged battery, 4.2v .4 ohms = 44 watts .24 ohms = 73 watts close to double the power. that's part of the reason for your problem at least.

    yeah, it's been said, but you really gotta think in terms of relativity. How much would you have spent on smokes? The juice is like anything else, if you want to do it yourself it's normally cheaper. Rollies were always a fraction of the cost of a pre rolled but you had to roll them yourself.

    this is a really good point. That lead on the bottom of the picture looks almost long enough to reach the inside of the cap when you put it on. If it touches the metal of the base/cap it can cause a short.
