    did you get the button out? Is your contact pin screwed out at all? if it is screw it all the way in and tighten it down a bit with a pair of pliers. if it isn't then you need to put the tiny 5mm(?) beauty ring on and it'll fill in that gap.

    no.. The button assembly comes out of the bottom under the locking ring. Then the locking ring screws off. The part with the vent holes in it is actually part of the main body of the mod.
