    Some wire sellers don't clean off the wire very well before put it on new spools. Always check for oil first! And clean those new attiys as well. Even if you can't smell oil, there is probably still residue there.

    I would think dripping between the posts would be your best bet. And with coils over the air holes, that should help as well. Sure, if you came in from the side, you might have a problem, but that is easy to avoid.

    It's true. But I always wrap the same direction and these coils were wrapped weeks ago before I decided what I was going to put them in. Oh, and the wicking is still great. The only time I ever wrap in the opposite direction is when I am building 4 coils for my Rafale X using the neutral post.

    I leave the leg length at 5mm, it isn't enough wire to really throw off the calculation at all. The size of the jig depends on how much room you have for the coil. I tend to use 3mm these days. I used 2mm before my Zephyrus and Billow decided to stop working for me. But they have small decks.

    In a Clapton, the core determines more of the performance than the wrap. It is what heats the wrap, so a quick heating core like Stainless will heat up the Nichrome or Kanthal great.     Depends on the juice, gunkier juice will lead to more frequent changes. Most of mine gets replaces every 30-60mL. Some lasts longer.

    1. It prob will work fine, and yes, it will take longer for those thick coils to heat up. Ramp up time become an issue when you move to the larger gauges, but they should make some nice vapor for you when get them warmed up.     4 right now, sometimes 6. But approx 11 available. In my defense, I DIY, so there is lots of "testing" going on. When I am not in full on experimentation mode, 2-3 is more common.
