Could just get a 510-510 adapter to use as an extension to make the standard carto long enough to fit your tank. Or look at "mega" style cartoa as some of them are just as long as a dcc.
If u are not looking to build quantities of identical parts a machine like that is Invaluable to a home shop. However the machine is a starting point. You can almost plan on spending an additional %50 of the cost of the machine in tools to make it do what you want to do if tooling is not...
Cotton purity easy to check. Lighter test. Fluff a small piece as much as possible and touch a lighter to it. Pure cotton will burn off cleanly with near zero ash. If the material appears to "melt" at all then it is NOT 100% cotton.
They have three diameters. Small med and large. I got the small as it was closest to oem wick diameter. It is very tightly pressed though. I think it might be better to use the medium thickness which is not as tightly woven and just separate enough of a strand to achieve desired thickness.
Been working with hemp just a bit and so far favorable impressions. Wicks well and based on lighter flame test of dry wick is much more heat resistant than cotton. Does aeem to give a faint "earthy" undertone to flavor but i find this more a plus than minus as i prefer tobacco flavors. Will give...
Thanks Quigs. Received my chip. A bit larger than i envisioned so will have to rethink my planned enclosure. Looking forward to building it when time allows.
My guess is a connection point only so the mfr can use a generic power supply and just add a plug appropriate for the device it will power. Never taken one apart though so not sure. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
