I only own Egos, but I have heard waay too many favorable reviews about the riva for it to be ignored. A copy yes, but a GOOD one. As far as differences, the feel of the switch/button is the biggest difference I can tell. Ego is hard plastic and the Riva is soft/rubberized.
With the Ego-t...
I first thought dripping would be too much trouble. but it has become my preferred method of vaping. A few drops lasts the equivelant of an analog for me so is really not a big deal and the taste is soooo much better than any cart/carto that I have tried.
Puresmoker "clove" has a very authentic flavor, which I like but find a little bit strong. Really like it with a little "cuban Cigar" and Menthol added to dilute the overbearing flavor/aroma.
not that the riva is better, but that order with the additional ego-t attys/tanks will give you more options to explore in finding what you like, so that is the direction that I would recommend. That would give you both standard and T attys and "carts". More to experiment with and more "spare...
most tobacco flavors taste more like the aroma of a freshly opened pack than they do the actual "burning" flavor of a lit cig. If you would like someone to recommend a tobacco flavor for you it would help to know what your preferred brand of cigs is.
Trial and err does have a lot to do with it, but that has been part of the fun for me. Part of giving up analogs is finding something to do with the time you would normally spend smoking, and all the options in vaping are really more of an asset than hinderance. Try them all, without getting...
Even though the EGO/Riva are often called "big battery" units; they are really not that big....u mention a lab environment, how many times have you caught yourself twiddling a "sharpie marker".......the Ego is almost the exact same size, a little shorter. Not really "big" at all. Battery life is...
physically, the T-tank atty will fit the 510 batt, however it is larger diameter and will look/feel out of place. They are not LR (low resistance) so won't drain the battery any faster than a standard atty. My recommendation would be either pick up a "T" starter kit or a Riva starter (29.99...
I've read the tank atties take a while to "prime". Possibly can drip a couple drops into the battery end of the atty and blow through to saturate the wick with something other than the nasty primer fluid.
seems like a really good idea.......but what about leakage since there is no filler to "hold" the liquid? does carying an assembled unit rightside up/upsidedown/sideways create any problems for anyone? I don't mind the bit more cost, but don't want to be spending an extra $10 a month on paper...
if the light on the charger is green, it is done.........vape it! The 8hr recommendation basically applied to old battery technology (NiCd).
Welcome and happy vaping.
Ego or Riva might be right up your alley then. Bigger/better battery without going to an all-out "mod". The somewhat larger size is really not too much of an obstacle, as it took minimal adjusting to get used to the feel when I got mine (ego, and started with a 510). with a regular Carto or...
As for the new one, they do sometimes have to "break in", and will start performing properly with some use. I would stay away from rubbing alcohol unless you can let the atty sit and dry COMPLETELY before use. Any alcohol 80proof or above will get the job done, I used Tequila the first few times...
