    Good 3A Metal Push Button

Someone please explain the use of a resistor in an led circuit. I have several leds removed from various electronics and all work with just a power and ground. So why the need for a resistor?

a couple of tanks and a pass through i made

U did nothing wrong. Neat stuff. Look at the views/posts ratio on other threads. "Look what I did" generally is the lowest. Followed by "how do I"; tutorials and how to's always seem to get the most comments.

    LavaTube Stainless Steel Mod

For one of the very reasons we have a Modders forum..........the Cool Factor. :D

a couple of tanks and a pass through i made

I think that voids the lifetime warranty on the screwdriver. Lol. Nice looking.

    Batteries

Protection circuit is normally added to the negative end. Every protection chip I have seen has been gold. Negative gold is protected. If negative is silver then probably not.

    First working mod!

Unfortunately no pics of the switch conversion as I was not even sure it would work when I did it. Maybe I will do another for pics. When removed the switch is a black housing with a white button. There are several retaining tabs which are carefully pried loose to open the switch housing...

    First working mod!

Anyone tried one of these using the original battery holder? Like 3 10440s with a 5v regulator?

    First working mod!

Thanks AZ. Always been partial to anodized blue color. Top cap machined on my hobby lathe. Using the original switch modded to momentary means it is totally mechanical. Does not have any wires in it at all except for 1.5" of 32ga kanthal.

    First working mod!

Have several half done ideas on the work bench but this is the first working one. Started life as a $2.00 led light from tractor supply. Genesis tank is my first too. "Dumbbell" style for durability and no wires through the juice. Utilized the original bottom mounted switch from the light. Just...

    genesis atty pecularity

thinner gauge wire is easier to coil too tightly (more flexible) causing a short. vaping just my second genesis wick/coil right now but had to toss several to get where I am as wrapping too tightly was causing most of my problems.

    Whats up with this battery?

Can't see the link. However all 3.7v lion batteries we use actually measure 4.2 when fresh from the charger. Probably just an advertising play and no different than other 18650s.

    coil on stainless steel wick

bj, my coils do like in the pic when dry, but with liquid, the coil performs well however one or both "legs" still light up orange. Is this wrong, or normal? maybe I need to move my connection points closer to the wick? Thanks in advance for your input.

    Wick materials. Safe vs dangerous.

Had wondered about cotton since it is used for wick in candles and space heaters but figured burning would be a problem. Anyone tried a Kevlar/spectra fiber? Obviously very heat resistant given its use in safety equipment. Never heard of its use though.

Looking for stock tube material for lathe work. 1" OD - 3/16" ID - SS, Delrin, anything?

Knurling excited me also. So cool. You will get there but it deserves a thread all its own. Simple to do but artfully to do with perfect results. Think ecigs are bad? Machining is one of the most fascinating and addictive hobbies I have ever gotten involved with. Oh.....forgot to mention...

Looking for stock tube material for lathe work. 1" OD - 3/16" ID - SS, Delrin, anything?

Having just got my lathe a few years ago and being 100% self taught.......I would have to say for initial setup get the largest variety of tooling possible for the lowest price like the kit u found. This gives you maximum capability for minimum cost at start up. Tools you find not used often...

Looking for stock tube material for lathe work. 1" OD - 3/16" ID - SS, Delrin, anything?

Small local machine shops are a great resource. Take a little while and talk to the owner/machinist and you may even find yourself getting some free education on setup.tooling.etc. Hands on manual machining seems to be a dying art and some of the veterans out there with small shops are more than...

    Smallest repairable atomizer?

Looks great. May need to relocate your air hole a little higher with the taller coil setup.

    Which iast longer?

If target output voltage is say 5.0; why stack cells to get 11v only to regulate it back down to less than half of that? Would it not be more efficient and safer to run 3the 2200ma cells parallel for 6600ma @ 3.7 and boost to 5.0v? Each cell's built in protection circuit could then do its job...
