as long as there was not a protection circuit (small metal disk) on the bottom of the battery then I would use it (maybe with the electrical tape or dime tube cover. if there was a protection circuit, then there is a small positive "ribbon wire" from top to bottom on the battery under the...
Cant help with the tank wicking issues. as for ego charging......clean both the inside of the charging connector and the battery connector with a q-tip and a little iso alcohol. if there is a dark residue in either connector use a straight pin or jewelers screwdriver to lightly scrape out the...
Sat down andthen dug mfy 510 out ofthe my pocket. BENT BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND CARTO. No big deal fixed. Second time there was no fixing. Ruined the battery. Next time carto broke. Just too fragile to use "worry free". Makes me want to go back to simple analogs.
First fill is very resistant to absorbing liquid properly. I always syringe fill the first time then by dripping every few hours after that. Getting the first fill right is the key to extending carto life.
Battery connector went bad on one of my ego chargers. Thought of using the PCB to make a 4.2v regulated passthrough. However remembered it has a 500ma output. I presume this makes it a no go?
Maybe a little thicker bottom plate. Could inlay a small piece of PCB with two contact points instead of the soldier and wire. Then the battery could be freely changed from the bottom. Just an idea.
Very nice. I presume the bottom plate is held by spring tension? Depress the connecting rods to release the bottom plate for battery changes; and that the button is threaded so can be tightened to lock the switch in an off position?
have not built one yet (waiting on parts). Here is what I gather from reading hundreds of posts in the last couple weeks:
for test fire (ie dry burn):
whole coil turns red evenly = functioning correctly
coil partially lights or lights unevenly indicates a short
coil immediately lights at only...
How about rolling the mesh around a piece of momofilament fishing line? Then the wick could be bent to the shape before the line is removed without kinking. Also how about preoxidizing the resistance wire as is done with the mesh roll before wrapping to minimize shorting and break in period?
And I just thought I had some good ideas for making my own atties. Incredible work Raidy. Even if many of the ideas I thought were mine have already been tried and proven not to be so good. What an education the last three days of reading has been.
New carto filler is resistant to absorbing liquid especially thicker vg stuff. I always do my initial fills with a syringe so I know I get the first fill right ei. Warming a thick liquid will thin it a bit and make it absorb into the filler faster.
So I made my first tank mod finally and loving it. Approx 4ml capacity with ce2 guts. My problem /question is by the time I use about 2/3 of the juice the rest has become twice as dark as the original liquid I filled with. Is this normal?
