Second day with new chassis and still working great. No juice seen in the catch cup yet. I did take another persons advice in this thread about putting the outer seal around atty and pushing it down when the tip piece threads in. That solved the little leaking I had when opening the VMOD. Now...
A LED light magnifying glass was most helpful when I installed the catch cup. Allowed me to see how much of the plastic flap I had shoved under the metal bar.
Yeah the catch cup was not easy to get installed. I used a toothpick and progressively sculpted it as I went along to make a Hook to help get the lip under the metal line. So far though, even with the thinner juice I'm using. The catch cup is dry.
Been using the VMOD w/ new Chassis most of the night now and put through about 5ml worth of thinner VG. So far no leaking at all, I do not even see any juice in the catch cup and I have overfilled a couple times. I will be trying some progressively thicker juice as time goes by.
So far though...
It is the same one that came on the chassis (mine did too, I even pulled the spare one out of the bag to compare and they're the same) I'm using the one that came inside the chassis and so far no leaking out the top of it like the old style did.
Got my new chassis today and new gaskets. Took a few minutes to get the catch cup centered. So far everything is working well, by tonight if there is no leaking I'll declare this a big winner. :)
Outstanding tierrataz on the update. The information about the silicon catch cup is great to hear. That was the only problem I've had with my VMOD and am waiting for the replacements to ship. Great to see they're on top of this.
My seals are in place and I very well may be overfeeding it. Very harsh dry hits got me trying to keep it saturated. Going to let bottle dry a bit then try some thinner liquid. See if that helps.
Changing batteries out today I noticed some liquid inside the chassis between it and the outer casing down the button side. Don't see a crack but maybe it's making its way from the middle section where the switch is?
After a day or two with the VMOD now, I got it working perfectly for me.
Took a bit to get used how often to feed. For such a small mod it is putting out thick clouds of vapor. :)
So far no leaks or cracks. Well worth the price. Might have to try some 2.0 Ohm BF atty's in it soon
Got my VMOD today and a couple 1.8 BF attys.
Filled it up with some thick boba's bounty and a few drops in the atty. So far so good. Enjoying the slightly cooler feel over the 1.5's and feeding is quite easy to adapt to. I'm even enjoying the rubber drip tips. Very nice mod for my pocket so...
After adjusting my feeding technique on the Grand. Lighter touch and a dry pull to bring the juice up. Thick VG is working good now. All that time on a LR306 got me a bit lazy. :)
After a week out of town I finally gave my HH 357 a try on a Grand with thick Boba's Bounty VG. Whole days use was only moderately good but I did have a couple floods. Following the instructions to the letter I decided to give it a try on the Megalodon just dripping a 80/20 pg/vg into it. Now...
I posted these short reviews of samplers in another thread here but wanted to copy to the sticky to help me and others get a short idea of my impressions:
Specialty Tobacco Sampler Pack
Switchblade: Very pleasing robust tobacco flavor. A bit musty taste but it doesn't stick with you and is...
