I've been using the riva t since early december and they work great. I drip when at home or sitting somewhere but for going out I like the tank for duration and simplicity. just over 13 months without a cigarette now.
I just watched a conga player with the tiki cowboys doing an old blues tune while I was researching youtube links for the band site. interesting versions of music they do
so just the link at the top of the browser and not the link that says share. or if you use the options in share and use a long link?
yup have to use the long link....
Ya, I looked at preamps. it was only $25 more to buy the mandobird. I'm going to sell my epiphone... I had feedback problems with just the piezo. I considered trying to mic my "The Loar" mando as it is a sweet instrument, but again volumes. we had another guitar player jam with us and I had to...
I tried to convert our lead guitarist today at rehearsals. He nearly hacked up a lung. should have handed him the tank setup but handed him a lr 510 I drip 28mg 555. haha. I take small vapes off that and satisfies.
Having a ton of fun with this band but I tell you I have tried every form of...
well guys... I had to drive to vancouver to pick the drummer up. then he had to work on his drums here... I still have to clean up the sawdust lol... we went and setup and wow. His drums are now stored in my garage. I dropped him off at home tonight in coquitlam (ya I covered a lot of miles...
Got my second jam with the new band and we picked 2 tunes each to add to the list. so looks like we are doing a mix of covers and originals. 3 vocalists so we are sharing the load and harmonies.... man I am in heaven. I miss having so many singers to work together. the drummer sings a bit too...
I can't get over how god awful my mandolin sounded being plugged direct into my keyboard amp. I'm going to try it through my zoom pedal and see if I can't get a better sound. was okay doing chugga chuggas but the high notes were shrill to me. I never had to play volume loud enough before, trying...
well guys, I went and jammed with a new band today. What a blast. lots of old blues. I know the progressions so the actual songs didn't matter so much. I played a lot of keyboards (hammond b3) and did guitar fill stuff. we traded off solos too though I have to admit the guitar fretboard felt...
I just saw this on the cafe' and had to share. check 1:30 in at the little bird. Talk about the show must go on. I have great respect for the way he handled it

4 bolt Squire, nothing special. I played the electric after Tom left. The width of the neck almost surprises me after playing the octave mandolin.
well awake an hour and a half earlier today. just have to wake up a tad earlier each day now for sunday's jam. I can't believe it's snowing like...
Interesting instrument. looks pretty lethal. I wonder how many cuts those wrists have endured.
Man I am counting the days down to the jam. 3 days away. I pulled out my strat last night and tweaked the intonation. I was going to lower the action some more at bridge and nut but the midi pickup...
I solo on guitar and understand scale positions, but this mandolin family everything is different. it's almost like solos go horizontal on the fretboard rather than vertical like a guitar because you can stretch 8 frets fairly easily
the one thing about mandolin I don't think I will ever be...
My theory sucks. I have a good ear. I can listen to most stuff and just learn it aside from complex pieces because it's a lot to remember. not knowing where stuff goes will help bigtime. and I need some understanding of cross picking and cross string picking. I read and know the difference but...
I have a tough time sticking to one type of instrument let alone one instrument hehe. I want one good instrument of each type I play. I don't need a collection of each type. collecting instruments is actually cheaper than collecting 5th scale rc cars and way more fun.
I found out for my...
Nice album jplanet. I have every album jethro tull ever made and I can see the influence.
Looks like I have to break out my auto detailing gear and book some work. my layoff notice came for the contract we are doing for month's end and my new schedule just arrived.... 2 days a week is all I...
I asked the drummer for a list of songs and he replied, blues rhythms, and play keys, original new tunes... so looks like I am a guikeyist and I'll figure it out when I get there. my favourite thing to play is organ on it too. it's a busy instrument.
I actually like not always being the front...
So much for not playing with drummers. My old drummer just stopped by. He has put together another band. They are a 3 pce doing blues stuff and need some fill. So I am going to play the midi guitar and do keys, guitar etc and also get to play mandolin and do some vocals with their singer. First...
