I'm very curious as to how these actually work.. A freshly charged lithium ion battery is 4.2v.. but as it drains, the voltage gets lower and lower.. these would have to include some sort of boost circuitry (in that little housing? hmm) to output 4.2v with a battery voltage of let's say...
I just ended up buying a cheap voltage meter from ebay and i'm going to solder it into a battery box.. i just need something for testing battery voltages while I'm on the go.
Yeah I agree completely, I was just enamored by it.. after the neato factor it is pretty high priced..
I was looking at Hobby King and you can score a pretty decent hobby charger for around $17-$25 but I was looking for something more..portable I guess. Getting tired of carrying around my...
--> FS: Cottonpickers Chargers incl. Worlds smallest Li-ion charger with display
Saw this on Candlepowered's marketplace... wow! So awesome... I'm seriously considering picking one up and carrying it around with me instead of my multimeter. Very awesome idea... the guy makes Solar Powered...
If they are regular LiCo cells with a protection circuit, you could rely on the protection circuit to cut them out, but the PCB cuts out at a pretty low voltage (less lifespan)
If you are using LiMN batteries (AW IMR, other IMR) there's no protection circuit and you CAN overdischarge them...
A couple people told this to me... but when I got my 5 pack of CE2's.. I started to experiment... #1 #2 and #3 all were failures wicking wise, even at 3.7v (The coil was getting red hot even full of juice)
on #4 I decided to try and burn the wicks using a butane torch lighter. I torched the...
Sounds like you might have a short, I'd check inside around the 510 connector... make sure that the center pin is insulated and there isn't anything touching... my best guess is a short
When I shorted my VV box on accident (picked up the wrong carto that had been shorted awhile ago) the same...
There would be so much prior art and easily proven prior art. I'm sure we will see our fair share of patent trolls.. matter of fact I believe there was already one... had to do with variable voltage. I believe it was the people or person who makes the Buzz and the Infinity.. they won a patent...
I posted a thread about this a couple days ago.. but I recently got a 5pack of XL Clearo ce2's as well... On CE2 #4, I finally figured out how to get these things to wick correctly (without a tank mod)
I take them out of the clearo tube, I untwist the ends of the wicks (so they are strands) I...
I own a 14650 e-power, and I love it.. although I do sometimes wish I opted for the 18650 version.
I do love the 14650 one though.. fits perfectly in a lanyard. The e-power + 1.7ohm cartos are my "away from home" setup, don't like taking my VV boxmod too many places. It's a great device...
Your video about counterfeit trustfire flamejacket 14500s has been a real lifesaver, thank you. I have a sinking feeling that a HUGE portion of every single 14500 flame jacket sold in the last couple of months have been counterfeit.. I have purchased a total of 10 of them now, from two...
Every post you make I find myself leaving the thread more educated on whatever subject matter is being discussed. Let people get offended, swallowing pride isn't easy to do!
Yeah, I didn't even unwind them completely, just the ends... but I thought about it, wasn't sure if it would work or not so good to know it did! The biggest issue with these things that I'm seeing is when you go to fill the damn things with a syringe/whatever you use to fill them, you press the...
Saw this badboy reading over at the candlepowered forums..
Word has it that this puppy has a really good charging algorithm, constant current/constant voltage..
charges at 600mA, comes with 6 spacers..
The flashlight guys seem to really like it.. figured someone around these parts could...
So, after much experimentation with a package of 5 XL clearos from Totallywicked (Their sale)... on #4 I finally have an amazing vape..
Every single one I tried, the coil would get red 1 second after firing... wasn't wicking properly. On this one, decided to try something I saw in a video by...
It's not putting them at the 'safest' voltage. A lot of people (Me including) do not like dual coils at anything below 5/6v. The darwin and the Provari both severely limit power output with a dual coil. The darwin can push a max of 12.7 (or something close to it) watts total, so for a dual...
If it's anything like my hair clippers that work on the same principle, once the battery exceeds its usable lifespan it will more than likely NOT work. This is because the device is powered by the battery at all times, even when plugged in. The pair of clippers I had...once the battery was...
Just FYI sort of deal.... The NoEgo and the e-power are pretty much the exact same unit. The NoEgo is just purchased OEM, rebranded and all, from smok-tech... so they are the same units.
Now, getting that out of the way.. if there ever IS a switch unit that supports VV/5v, it's going to be...
the 4.8v battery should work, but it won't give you exactly what you're looking for. There's even a 14650 version of the 4.8v nimh battery.. but here's the problem using NiMH batteries...
Their voltage drops considerably under the loads required of an e-cig.. WillyB showed me a picture of a...
