I have a full brass sentinel m16 mod and it has fit everything I've put on it (which is more then I can say for legit zna mods), and actually has a feature on it that I prefer over the legit ones. Just putting my two cents out there.

It's hard to say what the right track is I think, everyone has the set ups they like. My best friend tends to like 1.9 ohms I like 1.3 myself, some people love mechanical mods and some people love vv/vw. It sounds like you have a solid starting point to go from, good luck and welcome onboard!
snobbery in any form is kinda annoying, I always try to have fun and educate with anything I know about rather then look down on people for not knowing, everyone was abeginner once, and everyone deserves some help when they need it. =)
Empire mods sell bridgless drip atomizers, they are disposable and reasonably priced, just need a drip shield. I like the 1.5 ohm with 901 threads (they sell a sealed converter for a few bucks, I feel the 901 has better air flow). prolly the easiest way to go imho.
