There are threads on Reddit and Candle Power about it. I can't find the threads, but I did some Googling when I ran into the same issue and that's what I read. I don't care if anyone believes me. I'm saying the discoloration and spotting is fairly common. The fact that it happens in flashlights...
The shells can have minor leaks in them and the battery's can vent through the wrap. I've had it happen on a vtc 3. I'd get rid of them.
Make sure the wraps don't have any cuts in them.
The double spring is a bad idea. Magnets help, but they're almost always still crunchy. They need to be shimmed because the throw is so long. The locking ring is too finely threaded and takes to long to lock and unlock. Any mod that needs to be modded to work well is poorly designed. Do a...
I've always thought they were overrated. The voltage drop is nice and they're pretty, but they have an awful switch design. I have 3 and they're all paperweights.
Yeah, show us 4 year old pictures of mods that had stacked battery's in them that are charred.
If you can find me a picture if an exploded VTC in a mod, I'll quit posting for good. It ain't gonna happen.
Per MIT the standard for pulse is 30 seconds. VTC's are safe to draw 60 amps for 30 seconds or less.
VTC's don't "explode," they vent. There are some crazy things going on in the cloud chasing competition scene. I wouldn't do it, but other people doing it doesn't keep me up at night. I would...
They've really raised the price of all the new mods coming out. There are clones that can be found for the same price and cheaper in the US. It's disappointing.
Why do people pretend mechs are some ticking time bomb that you need a degree to operate? It's a ....ing battery tube.
Op, get some decent battery's and you're good. The biggest thing with mechanicals is the switch. Make sure you get something with a nice switch.
