    Yeah, I went back and tried again, with the inside taken out of the shell, making sure all contacts are true, and with a newer vtcv5 at 15 watts, various atty/coils, and still weak battery or locking up. I don't know, I guess I'll wait and see what evolv has to say tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!

    me too, but I can't figure out how to search the thread :facepalm: I emailed evolv, I think there's something wrong with the board because I can't find a problem anywhere. There's only a few things it could be; and jacked up boards coming from evolv are not uncommon, quite frankly. :(
