Thanks for that, Uncle Chuck. It does make me feel a little better. The previous owner only used it once, so I doubt it got too gummed up. I wonder if plugging the hole with something would work? So...What's the Skinny on Rebuildables?
I got started by rebuilding my Protank and Evod heads. Rip Tripper has a really easy tutorial on wrapping coils (look for "rebuilding a Mini PT" video). I found that once I got comfortable with rebuilding those, RDA's and RBA's are way easy. I test them on my VV V3. So far (and I'm pretty new...- alisa1970

OK, Here are pics --the last one is fuzzy, but those last two I tried to show where you can see liquid collecting in the holes. 2nd to last pic is the fill hole, and the last one is the airflow hole (unscrewed just enough to get a tight draw). I'm going to completely dis-assemble it, including the bottom (which I didn't do when I got it) to look in there. The "original owner" only used it once so I don't know how much he took apart. Maybe I'll find something I've been missing.- alisa1970

Thanks again for the suggestions...I will take apart the bottom and clean it out; maybe the base is filling up. The atty was PIF'd to me, and stupid me not having any patience, I didn't completely take it apart to clean it. That may be the issue. I'm pretty sure everthing else is well sealed...- alisa1970

Thanks for the feedback... O-ring in the top cap where the chimney seats...check. I don't have a set screw for the filling hole at the bottom...I've been wondering if that is the issue, or if it's damaged or defective. I had tried to use an extra screw that came with the atty to plug the hole...- alisa1970

I don't think there's a 1000 mah one--unless it's the pen-style with the square clearomizer. I've heard that one sort of sucks. Just the 800 mah stick-style or the 2600mah MVP (and VTR). If you don't like the battery life, then do what I did and get 2. :D- alisa1970

Some Advice On Rebuilding Protank Heads Please!
I also use cotton - it was the catalyst for me to start rebuilding. I am in it for the flavor, so replacing silica with silica didn't make sense to me. I also did a 2.2 ohm coil for my Protank, and use cotton for the wicking (both the main wick and the flavor wick) and have had no issues and...- alisa1970

I haven't noticed that...did you recently switch your coils LR? That could be the reason for the shorter life, if you also use higher volts/watts. -

How long off cigs before stepping down?
You'll do fine...you might want to try some WTA liquid from Aroma if you do decide to step down. Alternate that with your 24mg, then buy some regular 18 and alternate it with the WTA. I still have a couple of mine left. I use them--but yeah, I've made a couple of my own micros and I like them too. :) Got a Kayfun 3.1 clone a couple of days ago (a PIF gift), and got it working sort of. After watching a video on it, I totally did it wrong. :facepalm: Wasted both the coils...
