Why vapers are never satisfied: A Theory.

Yup, a micro sized bottom feeder, stacked 16340, driving the new DNA40, variable temperature, triple subohm coil, with a intuitive mood sensor, and a digital video display, stainless steel APV :)

Why vapers are never satisfied: A Theory.

Arnie, Returning a 'Like', and I do agree, generally, with what you said. As far as really being satisfied with nic from e-cigs, that is only part of the satisfaction you get. Obviously, the majority have determined that the cigarette looking mini doesn't satisfy with the amount of nic...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Words like 'Quest', and 'Holy Grail' come to mind :) The high voltage craze has pretty much topped out. Go over 8 volts or so and start getting the 'carto tingle', Voltage becomes uncomfortable when your connector goes bad. The only way to do more then would be multiple cartos (I tried 2...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Here's another one for you to 'like' :) I'm sure everyone has experienced the occasional carto or atty that just didn't seem to function as well as the others, or maybe just can't seem to get this coil winding thing down to produce repeatable performance without going back over and over trying...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

I think many folks don't fully understand how a protection circuit board works on a Li-ion cell. Some may have gotten a bad taste in their mouth from the cheap protected cells that they probably overloaded and complained about being crap. There has been little change that I'm aware of in the...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Well, I pretty much got my questions answered, and maybe the OP did also. Thanks. If you use 0.5 ohms or above, and can reproduce the coil resistance to 4% or so (+/- 0.02 ohms), then you shouldn't have any trouble making and testing subohm coils. The somewhat low, but positive, temperature...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Measuring the voltage drop across an accurately known resistance in parallel with an unknown resistance (coil) would give you the current in the parallel leg that had your precision resistor in it. Seems you would have to know something else to get coil resistance. Got an example, with numbers...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Ryadan, Thanks, sounds reasonable. What model meter, and would it's cost be within the range of the typical e-cig experimenter?

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

Really folks, not trying to be mean, just wanted to know what is the most common meter (or ruler) used to measure .2 or .47 ohm? It's not like I asked what it the total path resistance of your mod, including cell resistance, and what percentage of energy is consumed by your mod and not the coil...

    Sub Ohm Vaping? Pros/Cons/Why?

I would like to know what measuring device is most commonly used to build subohm coils? Just how repeatable is the winding process, in coil ohms? or percent 5%, 10%? and What loaded voltages, at the coil, are people getting with their batteries?

    li po test

To me it looks like the 'charger' from a $10 gas station disposable. Not much room inside that 'charger' for a circuit board. Most have nothing but 2 wires inside them. The 'smarts' for these are in the disposable e-cig. Anyone that has a disposable 'charger' lying around is asking for a fire...

    Battery question

Just a guess (and don't think I'm trying to discourage your efforts) but just from what you have posted I would suggest building a few less complicated mods first. A DNA 20 mod, or even a vaping app for an Iphone 5 might be a little 'above your pay grade', technically. Lots of easy to learn...

A better electrical switch for the DIYer

I have better luck with the microswitch than the 69 cent horn button. or even this 49 cent switch rated at 6 amps (that's the one I chopped up for the pipe mod in the last picture. http://www.shop.goodprophets.com/product.sc?productId=227&categoryId=75 It is bulky and you have to 'Plan Ahead' ...
