    A PTC fuse (resettable) sometimes climbs in resistance after the first trip, but it keeps working. A Pico size fuse, with leads, oR a small automobile type fuse (you can solder to the tabs) might work. TO protect the controller, a fast acting fuse might be best.

    I'll weigh in as GO FOR IT sounds good to me. Just don't go soldering to a regular cell. Search for a tabbed 18650 or two in parallel :) Maybe even a wooden box mod. Heavens forbid you use something ugly like an aluminum box from MPJA. (Willyb is sort of narrow minded :))

    Now that there appears to be two new versions of this PV available, replacement bottom tubes from one vendor with some kind of vents, and another vendor with holes drilled in both the top tube and the bottom tube, which one will be safer? Are the holes adequate? Better than unvented...

    Read up on this. It's obvious that 6 volts at 3 or more amps is where real men vape :) I vape at 3.7 volts with big battery mods (for the past 4 years or so). Instead of 'wimpy' I consider myself a 'light beer vaper' :)
