    Is it the glycerin you're concerned about, or PG, or both? I've always thought that USP is the purest grade you can get of either one, and I've personally had no issues with the stuff I've used. That's neither here nor there, though. I'm definitely not out to change your mind. Just curious...

    Mat - From what I've read, a metallic taste indicates a short somewhere. The usual culprits are the wick shorting against the body of the atomizer: either the bottom, the top cap or the centre post. One of the coils could be shorting against the wick, too. Nudge your coils or rotate your wick...

    Have you used the variable wattage feature? If so, does it seem accurate? That is - does, say, 8 watts feel like 8 watts (or thereabouts) from another device? Or is it subject to the standard PWM "feels hotter than the setting" issue?

    Heh. I know proper soldering procedure, but I couldn't physically make it happen with those tiny wires - would've needed a third hand made of asbestos. I too had to melt the existing bead and get the wire in place that way. Miraculously, it ended up being a good joint anyway. :)

    Not sure why that happens; I first tried pulling my centre pin with a screwdriver as well, and when it made contact with both the pin and the outer portion is when I saw my light flash. I can only assume it's the short circuit protection kicking in.
