    Looking for some basic advice...

The KGO and the Riva are the only "Ego-style" ecigs that are true 3.7v - the standard Ego is 3.4v. It does matter because newbies are being advised that the 808's are inferior in performance when that's simply not true. They work very well; there is absolutely nothing wrong with starting one's...

    Looking for some basic advice...

As a point of fact, the 808 from V4L runs at a higher voltage the the EGO. It is *better* than the EGO, not inferior. The edge the EGO has is in battery life and the ability to use low-resistance cartos. Note that people often forget to state the obvious: the 808 doesn't NEED the LR because...

    Looking for some basic advice...

You asked for some basic advice, so here it is. Most people nowadays start with either the 808 or some variation of the EGO. Vapor4Life has a good selection of 808's - always check to see if there's a sale going on, which is frequently. Stick with the manual versions. The Volt from Smokeless...

    How am I doing?

I got my KGO from Hoosier and I was very pleased with the shipping speed, service and prices. It's a good, reliable company.

another new member trying to kick a bad habit!!

If you stick to the ECF vendors, you won't get ripped off. Click the "Forum Suppliers" tab to see them. Tastes in juice vary widely and you may loathe someone else's favorite. My advice would be to buy some sample packs in various nicotine levels and PG/VG ratios until you can figure out...

    New in Vancouver!

The Bloog is an 808 model and it gets very good reviews but I think the Volt from Smokeless Image is basically the same thing - but cheaper. The 808 is also sold by Vapor4Life and their e-cigs have a longer cutoff time: ~13 seconds vs ~7 for the Bloog and Volt, I think. I have the V4L 808...

Anyone else have family or friends who still believe your "Still Smoking"

Not true at all. After 37+ years of smoking, I haven't inhaled any burning tobacco in over two years. I have definitely quit.

KGO or RIVA - which one to get

I have both and I think that my Riva (650mah) hits a bit better than the KGO - but I love both of them.

Any negative side effects from e-cigs? HELP

I caught that nonsense, too. The author has an agenda. Someone should clue him in to the fact that those methods are known to FAIL in the long term. I define long term as more than six months.

    Got our Volts tonight!

I had to start at 36mg and stayed there for a long time before moving down to 24mg, then a few months ago I finally bumped it down to 19mg. I just received my first bottle of 12mg and I can actually taste it, which is a far cry from my reaction in the early days when it tasted like bad breath...

    Usa e-juice vendors!

There are lots of great juice vendors. A good place to start would be to click the Forum Suppliers tab and stick to one from the list because they've been vetted. Remember that everyone has different tastes and what someone else loves, you may despise. I do not like any kind of tobacco...

Are Green Smoke refills successfull, or should I return for an easier refilling e-cig system

No, you're not missing anything. I have always refilled my cartos by the drop from the top. It's easy and takes very little time. Syringes make me nervous and the condom method is too messy.

Black Licorice from MadVapes.com - Amazing!!!

Vapor4Life also has a great Wow Black Licorice flavor. It tastes exactly like Good & Plenty or Allsorts.

    Trying something new

It sounds to me like maybe the juice hadn't settled down into the carto when you vaped. I shake mine down like it's a thermometer and then let it sit for half an hour or so. Are you using 100% VG juice? If yes, that stuff will take more time to saturate the carto. The higher the VG %, the...

    Vaporversary?

Mine is October 16, 2009. It's hard to believe that I've been a non-smoker for two years and four months because I *loved* my cigarettes and figured I'd be buried with a pack or two.

Newbie finally found the e-juice that's kept me off analogs!

That was my brand, too. I don't like tobacco flavored vapes anymore but in my first month I vaped Virginia from V4L and Parliament from MyFreedomSmokes - both hit the spot nicely. Another good one from Vapor4Life is Wow Coffee. My current favorites are Butter Mint and Kona Coffee Milkshake...

Solicited: Suggestions for On-the-Go, Socially Acceptable Options

I use my XL manual batteries from V4L when I want to vape without attracting attention. They work very well and unlike the Volt, they don't have a short cutoff time on the battery - but they are 3.7v. They have a stealth battery with no light on the end so it looks like a pen.

    My first post

I think the Volt is an 808, not a 510. They get lots of good reviews here. If you have been smoking 2 packs a day for decades, I would recommend that you start with juice that's 24mg or higher. I normally love the 808 model of e-cig (Volt, V4L, Bloog) and I still use mine but I suspect that...

How long did it take you to fully Quit?

I quit the minute I started vaping and nobody was more surprised than I was!
