I would agree with almost everybody here.
Before rushing to by a really expensive piece of equipment try experimenting with various accessories to see what you like .
Cartos, Tanks , Atties , inexpensive VV mods
This will help you figure out what road is for you.
The IMR is a safe chemistry battery with no protection circuitry . It can handle higher current drain.
The ICR has an inbuilt protection circuit against shorts and overdischarge
Personally I would choose IMR's especially in mods that have a high current drain.
As you say one con is the short supply .You have to grab one when available
There is a bit of learning involved (making coils etc).
The cost
but on the plus side.
It will never let you down.
built to last and the build quality is great
The vape is phenomenal
As your first e-cig I would not recommend the Lavatube.
Also you will quickly discover that cigarette size e-cigs lack the power and stamina that you will want.
My personal suggestion would be something like an ego with cartos as ones first e-cig.
To put its simply its all about
Ohms Law
Current Amps = Volts / Ohms
Watts means electrical power
Watts = Volts * Volts / Ohms
So as the Voltage is increased or as the resistance is deacreased the power goes up
example
At 6 volts with a 3Ohm Cartomiser
Watts = 6 * 6 / 3...
