Kentucky Lab asking for adolescent smokers 12 to 16 for Chantix Study

I cringe now every time I see a Chantix commercial. ("Side effects may include suicidal thoughts")

Kentucky Lab asking for adolescent smokers 12 to 16 for Chantix Study

Did anyone ever seriously believe that the government cared about children's well-being in regards to anything?

Butting Out: New Yorkers Vaping Up a Storm With E-Cigs

You're right. It's the soccer moms and the paranoid progressives that we're worried about. Personally, I have no problem with minors vaping. I see it no more harmful that adults vaping. I do care about the reputation of the e-cigarette community getting tainted as a result of condoning minors...

    Walked through a casino today...

The Illinois smoking law doesn't make exceptions for casinos, while Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin all do. This has stirred some controversy over whether Illinois casinos are losing business to nearby out-of-state casinos that permit smoking.

    Walked through a casino today...

Nevada has a very patchy history of smoking bans. In 2006, smoking was banned indoors except in casinos, standalone bars not serving food, strip clubs, and brothels. In 2009, smoking was again permitted in "tobacco-related trade conventions." In 2011, smoking was again permitted in bars serving...

    Walked through a casino today...

I've noticed that when you start vaping, you begin to hate the smell of smoke more than ever before.

    My Boss is Nonplussed...

The barber shop where I get my haircut has a 6x4 breakroom (it's literally that small) where the boss lets her employees smoke. What's weird is that I've never smelled stale analog smoke in spite of walking by the breakroom every time to use the bathroom.

E-cigarettes appeal to those who want to kick the habit

I actually vaped earlier this year at Texas Roadhouse. And yes. Their bread is addicting but in a good way.

Costa Rica may ban e-cigarettes due to false and misleading claims by US FDA

Am I getting this straight: They are banning e-cigs because they believe that the FDA is lying about them being harmful?

Would you feel more confident vaping in public if there were others?

The few vapers that I've seen were all in places where smoking was allowed (bar/restaurant), so it would be helpful if they vaped in places where smoking was prohibited.

Would you support a Vaping Culture?

I don't know of any doctors after the 1940's recommending people smoke "for their health."

Question about Vapor Suspending in Air

Didn't Nevada overturn a ban on smoking in bars and casinos? Anyway, water vapor dissipates much quicker than tobacco smoke (I'd say within 10-15 seconds depending on the size of the cloud). It does generally rise. Most people don't even notice it though. That's how fleeting it is. It's even...

Would you support a Vaping Culture?

We all know that there used to be a smoking culture in the United States and most of the world, but would you all support a similar culture with vaping? As in, you see people vaping everywhere at every time: in the grocery store, in the movie theater, in the restaurant, in the mall, in the...

    Will Oklahoma Get it Right...??

Oklahoma is probably the only smoker-friendly state left. The state government hasn't outright banned smoking in any indoor public place (although designated smoking areas must be provided inside most public buildings with a separate ventilation system). It's very similar to the 1975 Minnesota...

Why Do Public Health Groups Oppose E-cigarettes?

Libertarians (who may be running as Republicans) and Conservative Right Republicans. All major nanny state tobacco laws have been passed under Democrats. I'm normally not this partisan, but this is an exception. Tobacco Family Prevention and Control Act of 2009 and the 1997 Executive Order...

Illinois governor signs law banning sale of flavored wrappings

I'm from Illinois, so this doesn't surprise me. But currently I live in Indiana now, and Republican Mitch Daniels, at the very end of his term, gave into the progressive Democrats and passed a statewide indoor smoking ban with very few exceptions (standalone bars, which are very...

    Tacky/Unconventional Places to Vape

I can't think of too many. Perhaps a classroom if you're a student or teacher. It's a pretty subjective topic. There are some people who say that it's tacky to vape in a hospital or grocery store. Others say it's tacky to vape in an elevator or at a gas pump. Others say there is no...

What does it take to get vaping in public accepted....?

I briefly discussed vaping with the group Tobacco Free Florida. Needless to say, they oppose vaping (just like every other anti-tobacco movement). I told them that I've never had someone come up to me and tell me to stop vaping. They claimed that that is because people don't know the dangers of...
