I didn't realize how bad non-smokers had it...

Frank Zappa, when asked if he'd ever tried quitting smoking: "A couple of times. The one time I really tried the hardest was when I had a chest cold and I was in the middle of a tour. We were in Canada and I had to travel every day and sing every night in these cold, hockey rink-type places. I...

Updated: When vaping which is most important to you...

Now I'm curious to know how I voted in this way back when I was pretty early along in vaping. I now vape 100% PG which means next to no visible vapor exhaled (unless I'm out in cold or damp weather). In the past couple weeks I've been vaping nothing but barely-flavored (i.e., dotted with < 10%...

    Does Nicotine Cravings Ever Stop?

For some reason, I'll never forget what a professor of mine said around 1980. He was just about to hand out the final exam we were to take when one of my classmates jokingly asked if there was still time for her to go out and have a cigarette because she really needed one now. He just smiled...

How do YOU vape and drive.

Same here on the 808 premium carto, but with a thread adapter and eGo battery or pass-through. I use them without an end-cap or drip tip tip mainly for better vapor delivery, but also because it makes it that much easier to top off. A carto offers so much great flexibility than dripping as far...

My Country For a Decent Pass-through!

    Oh yeah--thanks for the heads-up. That's a bargain.

My Country For a Decent Pass-through!

I have and enjoy the equivalent eGo battery, but neither (unless I'm wrong about the TW unit) gives out 5V. Yes--I learned that lesson early on and got 2A adapters for both wall and car.

My Country For a Decent Pass-through!

Those are pretty, and I guess I need to accept that a robust PT cannot be had in the < $30 price-range (even though I can't completely understand why not, given the relative simplicity of design).

My Country For a Decent Pass-through!

Two down... My first experiment with higher voltage vaping, a Madvapes 5V PT, proved a bit flimsy in the switch department a few weeks in, as the plastic part one depresses to fire it migrated away from the switch itself. My V4L looked a lot sturdier as far as switch and cord connection go...

    Back to Analogs

Just a +1 for everyone who notes that it's not necessarily a matter of resolving to quit cigarettes. After 14 mos, I still have 4-5 a day-- down from 20+-- and I vape a lot. I think if I approached it as an "either/or" thing and got fed up with vaping, I'd be back up to my old level or more...

Cartomizers that don't burn your lips !

I've been using nothing but the KR808D-1 Premium soft-cap cartomizers from Litecigusa for a couple months. Standard resistance (don't have the Ω figure) on a 5V PT, or 2Ω on an eGo battery with thread adapter. Neither heats up appreciably on my lips. I've taken to using them just open with the...

    FSUSA: Wyatt Earp

The most polarizing, "love it or hate it" flavor ever? Let me just say-- it takes a long time to purge its taste from a cartomizer

    analog tasting juice

A couple of the mentions here astound me how NOT cigarette-like they are to me, which just goes to show... something or other. I've gotten really leery about these sorts of recommendations, lest I fill my shelves with bottles and bottles of unvapeables. But I think the quest is a worthy one and...

    Who vapes 36 mg?

I vape 36mg, all PG, most of the time and have lately come to enjoy unflavored (after first trying it as a carto-cleaning strategy). Plus, after a day or so of nothing but unflavored, switching to a flavor you thought you were tiring of can be quite pleasant. I do cut back to 24 for a couple...

    just recieved smoketip

Welcome, Peggyann! I'm not familiar with the model you got, but it does sound like you started with one of the typical, probably overpriced, and less satisfying models out there--as so many (myself included) did. There are quite a few excellent choices out there. The eGo (also sold as the...

Why do you call cigarettes "analogs"?

As a guitar player, if I wanted to be clever I'd call them "acoustics" (as in non-electric--get it?) instead of "analogs." But I don't want to be clever so I call them "cigarettes," which is what they are. I get a bit peevish when I read newbie posts referring to "analogs," as if one has to...

How many other's have you encountered vaping

I haven't run into any full-time vapers, and only one who mentioned she occasionally uses a Blu instead of smoking. (I suspect we, with our eGos, 510s, pass-throughs, mods, etc. are hugely outnumbered by sometimes-users of cig-alike mall models.) What I have noticed is a fair amount of friends...

    Cartomizer - snap, crackle, pop

I notice it all the time with my 5V pass-through. I prefer using my 808 cartos open--without a cap or drip tip, and I've learned (the hard way) to push the button and wait a sec for this one consistent POP! before putting it in my mouth.

Did you quit or do you still smoke a few?

I still smoke--typically two in the early morning, none through the course of the day, and two or three in the evening. My rule is no more than six, and I'm really strict with myself on that. In fact that sixth light-up has become very rare lately. That's down from 1-1.5 ppd over a 40+ year...
