How many of you still smoke analogs occasionally?

I'm kind of the same way. I've been vaping for 3+ years, but I've worked four cigarettes maximum into my daily nico-routine--two early morning and two late at night. And I guess it does boil down to "I'm old and I want to." I still like the taste of cigarettes and the smell of smoke. But this...

Newbie looking for advice/experiences with quitting analogues

Welcome Roni-- You've already gotten a lot of good advice, to which I have little to add. A couple things I might note: Don't decide on the first day whether 24 mg is too high or low, as there's bound to be some acclimation to this new form of nicotine delivery. For the same reason, don't be...

FORBES article points out that "reduced harm" products might not become a reality

I totally don't buy into most of the conservative/liberal blahblah I read here because conservatives have historically supported or stood by unhelpfully in response to various tobacco control strategies across the decades. Think SCHIP, one of the only major bipartisan things Congress has passed...

Nice article in Wausau Daily Herald-For me, 'vaping' beats smoking

Good article. I'm betting that the writer supplied the photo (eGo Twist batteries instead of the usual cigarette-looking device), and he sounds above-average informed about what's going on with regulation, etc. I wonder if he hangs out here.

    Would you smoke again?

I still do, even after three years vaping, but no more (and rarely less) than 4-5 a day--down from 25-30 at peak over a 40+ year habit. I've never lost my fondness for the taste and smell and the extra "oomph" a cigarette provides, even compared to very high nic vaping. (Plus, this helps ensure...

e cigs in jail.... your thoughts??

Since I am against all other forms of tobacco or nicotine prohibition from those who have the habit, why should this one be any different? Nobody seriously argues against feeding inmates on the public dollar and letting them use cutlery. I might be ok with some safety/security provisions, though.

The FDA, The E-cigarette and Why Vaping Won't Die

I heard an interesting bit of commentary recently about what was called "Ikea Syndrome." That's when somebody who has built something (however well or poorly) gets the idea that whatever they've built (pre-fab bookshelf or social policy) is the best there is and that anybody else's is inferior...

The FDA, The E-cigarette and Why Vaping Won't Die

And now it's over the 25K signature threshold! We can only hope that this one draws a more favorable response than the condescending "Quit Smoking" platitudes that the FDA served up in response to an earlier one.

The FDA, The E-cigarette and Why Vaping Won't Die

Good news for you, me, and probably most who post here, and I agree with a lot of what you're saying. But I think you're way underestimating the number of consumers who are presently buying the mass-produced, mass-advertised, e-cigarettes that would be wiped off the map in the event of a ban...

    Vaping Before Ultrasound Procedure

Thanks, all of you. I was quite good about all listed aspects of the fast, but will admit to a moderate (for me) bit of vaping. The tech didn't mention anything about the image while doing it, and I haven't heard any results.

    Vaping Before Ultrasound Procedure

I'm scheduled to go in for an abdominal ultra-sound late tomorrow morning (probably nothing serious, but something ugly showed up on a bowel x-ray). The fasting rules I was told over the phone seemed more comprehensive than what I've heard in connection with other medical tests: "No eating...

    Wick materials. Safe vs dangerous.

I've been lurking this thread for some time and learning a lot from it. I can't help but notice that the quest reminds me of my boyhood reading about Thomas Edison's quest for a workable filament for his light bulb. If I recall, both cotton and bamboo ended up on the short list. The main...

Custom Text Color - Likes Received Header

I've been fooling with customizing my profile page. Whether it's how it always been or how I set something (can't remember), I'm having a low contrast problem when looking at the Likes Received list. Specifically, I have trouble reading the lines that indicate who liked my posting. Can't seem to...

    PIF: Where can I get....

Bump--as I'm interested in finding this out as well. I'm pretty sure Princessdee is referring to Kanger T2 Clearomizer heads. The silicone spacers/insulators seem to develop rips with each coil rebuild.

    Things smokers say to vapers..

I just heard that one recently. This whole thread points out the willingness of people--friends, co-workers, perfect strangers, etc.--to be much more rude to people about their nicotine usage than they are about most other things. I think it's spillover from the rudeness level the...

Cutting Coil Ends (T2) - What do you use?

Actually, that's what I use for instrument string ends (with a nod to MISTer E) and make a point of replacing them ($.89) pretty frequently--or, more likely, losing them frequently. But I couldn't quite get in close enough with them inside the T2 head. Maybe a slightly skinnier pair.

Cutting Coil Ends (T2) - What do you use?

I've now made a couple of new T2 coils successfully. One step I find a little tricky is closely cutting the two ends that emerge from the inside and outside of the plastic sleeve. It's probably a matter of my not having a small pair of scissors that is pointy enough to cut the kanthal easily...

Do any veteran vapers still like clearos?

Over nearly three years, I've gone from cartridge/atomizer to drip/atomizer to carto to carto/tank, and now to clearo--each a little better than the one before. I've lately been pretty well glued to the Kanger T2s. My initial purchase of them was horrible because the early mouthpieces were...
