And if you are really feeling froggy... you can use WINE to fold on the gpu.
But also - this number is weird. the PPD calculation is only on the TPF, but WU assignment time (download) and upload times are not factored in as HFM does not know how long it takes to download or upload, so the PPD...

And my TPF varies from WU to WU. Some 12, 16, 20, 23. Depends on the WU and the section of code that is being folded.
Edit: And just for the record, 8101 sucks the most. Takes the longest and they've been adjusted PPD wise to give less. BOOO!
What does the log say?
Side note... my router is completely dead. New one will be here tomorrow (along with a new knife sharpener, sledge hammer -- for the router......... yes really......., Spyderco Para-Military2 blade, and some other items...)
Gonna log off for the night and run the wire...
Maybe because of the change. At one point it had me listed as having around 50 clients when I really only have three. I think if your cpu/gpu is changed and requests new work units it will add X amount of clients per unit that is retrieved.
PPD per Watt isn't worth it but if electricity means nothing then go for it. If you can get them in a quad config you're looking at around 700k PPD. (Providing it was 2.5ghz or more)
And I'm only estimating, based off my rig.
From Terminal:
sudo apt-get install lm-sensors If you're running 12.04 then it's already installed
-- wait for install to finish
sudo sensors-detect
-- Go through the prompts, yes to insert sensors into modules
sudo apt-get install xsensors
-- wait for install to finish
From this...
I'm sorta back, sorry for my absence. Router is still acting up... randomly disconnects hardwired and wireless clients after ~10 minutes. That's why some of my folding is gappy in the reports.
Nach I use Ubuntu 12.04 right now. For temps I use xsensors, but it requires the lm-sensors module.
Why not? Keep in mind a full build of the latest tech is going to cost well over a grand, so the cooling is just as important. Me personally, I would do phase change for the cpu and a custom loop for the videocards if I could afford it. Imagine the folding potential...
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be selling the big rig. If I can get $700 for it then it's a goner. But it's gonna have to be a local thing... not gonna ship all this stuff~
Lol I'm not home, but I did have an issue with my router which took both rigs offline for a couple hours. Should be good, will check when I get home. Passing soon! :)
