Things are going buddy. Still folding, barely home to do anything else. Can't remember what you use to fold but if you use an ATI video card you may want to enable the beta flag and passkey flag on your GPU slot -- Stanford re-enabled QRBP and optimized the core for ATI cards. It's beta but...
I did. Looks like a good choice. Myself, I would wait and see what happens with the beta core to see if ATI is going to be on top but if the money is burning a hole in your pocket then pull the trigger lol
I need more money... need the two coolers still for the big rig. I've been dying to OC it so bad. And I also want to rebuild my old i7 to fold on. With the new GPU beta core that system should get like 50k PPD... and with the OC on the big rig (I'm assuming at least 2.3ghz total) it will bring...
I'm willing to bet it's at least a 30GB drive. Squeeze the blue tabs and pull it out. Should have a label on one side that shows the capacity.
Regarding the WU's... not efficiently. You would need two installations of FAH and they would split the cpu power between the two... easier and more...
Bios is actually stored on a chip thats on the motherboard. It does not require an OS to boot into the bios. When you first turn the pc on it will show something like:
Notice at the bottom it says <DEL>: BIOS Setup
Your system will show something similar. Either DEL, F12, F2, etc. Press that...
I once felt the same way about the Fusions. I believe I ordered 50 at once? Or more... I can't remember exactly but it was huge and Isaac was not happy with me. He threatened to flog me. :(
MSI N670 PE 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com is the video card I have with a mild OC on core. It's running around 1241mhz.
I, too, have removed the -beta flag and am running the x15 core again. The beta core is too...
Odd... my PPD just shot up to 58k PPD on my videocard. Been working on the same unit for about an hour and the TPF randomly cut in half (3 mins to 1 min) ... strange beta crap grrr.
Sounds just like doing a system restore.
As far as your previously completed work units - they're already uploaded and you don't have to worry about them. If you were working on a project when you did the refresh then sadly that project/work unit is gone unless you backed it up. When you...
I think it's more cost effective to wait, personally, since they're only going to decrease in price or the next up better card will drop to the same price. At least wait on GPU folding until the beta core is stabilized. Who knows, with the new core ATI may end up on top.
If you're going to...
Honestly right now I would return the GPU and only fold SMP (CPU) as there is a beta core for GPU folding and with the beta core, ATI is actually outperforming nvidia. But... that's on Windows. GPU folding on Linux is meh at best and you would have to run an emulated version of Windows (WINE)...
