New Study on Tocix Compounds (has anyone the full study?)

Eliquids do have some ethonal, AFAIK. Acetol is in trace quantities probably from flavors. Not sure about the third one.

New Study on Tocix Compounds (has anyone the full study?)

PDF of full text can be downloaded here. The study is interesting because it measures "steady state" emissions .Unlike other studies that measure substances like acrolein, formaldehyde etc emissions during first few puffs this steady measures both initial and at use emissions. As noted by...

Cell harm seen in lab tests of e-cigarettes...

The explanation given above is succinct.Steam is essentially water vapor at boiling point.Once steam escapes from boiling water it rapidly gets cooled and gets in to the process of condensation, at which point it is no longer steam but water vapor.

They are covered under junk science heading in this subforum, I gather.

That is like 1% steam may be for a max of couple of minutes. It will be even less if you have some sort of exhuast arrangement.

Cell harm seen in lab tests of e-cigarettes...

There is no literature to speak of regarding ecig health effects. There are small studies done recently which shows deleterious effects of inhaling pg,vg vapors. All those negative studies are junk science, that goes without saying ;).

That is why we don't inhale steam.

Cell harm seen in lab tests of e-cigarettes...

It seems normal cells (HaCaT) are not effected much compared to control.I have a feeling the test methodology is not very robust in ruling out contamination.I was wondering why there was some damage in control ?.

Reliable Harvard Scientists Say E-Cig Flavors Can Cause "Popcorn Lung"

It is more like 1.6 mg per 8 hour shift. That is 1600 ug/ shift . These are approximate quantities. Somebody screwed up fluid densities and arrived at those outrageous figures.Did the good dcotor F had a hand in this ?. The risk is reached when one vapes 10ml eliquid with 160 ug/ml diacetyl...

Can vaping hurt your lungs ???

If you must vape trying Juul could be an option, since Pg And VG consumption comes down owing to high nicotine. All those Hot solvents (Pg and vg) are bound to have an effect especially for somebody with compromised lung tissue.

"It only takes ONE bad chemical"

Actually it is not a bad idea, In my not so considered opinion :p. Since there is no heating water would probably make an excellent carrier for nicotine. One has to take care of nicotine overdose, though.

@nicnik, Nothing wrong in trying nicotine inhalers. One may never know.

"It only takes ONE bad chemical"

There used to be (Quite a long long time ago, perhaps) PG in some nebulizer solutions. As of today PG is not in any regular nebulizer solutions. ventolin inhalation solution has water, mostly. This pg in inhalers and other asthma medication is a myth propogated by Ecig suppliers. It gained so...

CEH files shakedown lawsuits in CA against 24 large e-cig companies alleging high carcinogen levels

Seems there is some money to be made here.If somebody could gather resources to repeat the test in the same lab on some select eliquids it could prove to be beneficial. It is quite possible that some flavors in certain eliquids are causing excessive formation of formaldehyde like substances in...

They should publish complete testing protocols and the name of the lab used.Either they are being dishonest or worried over backlash from irate ecig users.

CEH files shakedown lawsuits in CA against 24 large e-cig companies alleging high carcinogen levels

This is a different study but the parameters of time for smoking machines are more or less standard. http://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/12/8/9141/pdf Puff duration was 3 s, puff volume 40 mL and inter-puff smoldering-interval 27 s.

CEH files shakedown lawsuits in CA against 24 large e-cig companies alleging high carcinogen levels

That temperature thing is wrong. In unsteadystate vaporization that occurs in ecig equipment vapor is not produced at boiling points of liquids. The boiling temperatures encountered are not less than 140-150 deg c assuming steady state conditions. 90 deg c is completely wrong. You don't get any...
