    That's great! I just rebuilt a couple of mine for the first time the other day. I found a 1.8mm jewellers screwdriver fit perfectly into that slot so you could easily keep the coil in perfect position. 30g kanthal, 12 wraps on 1.8 id got me 2.2ohms also for my microcoil in my Aerotank.
