    European DIY-ers - look here!

I started a thread in the Europe-subforum for talking about EU-based vendors of DIY-materials. Come on over and tell us who you buy from, who will ship EU-wide, where the best deals can be had on bases, liquid, flavouring and accessories. Since the movement of goods within the EU/EEA is...

European DIY people? Where do you buy your stuff?

Thanks, will take a look. But won't you have trouble with customs/taxes? I can order virtually anything from anywhere within the EU/EEA, but from outside the EU I get hit with VAT when the value (which includes shipping!) exceeds 45 euros, and possible customs when the value goes over...

European DIY people? Where do you buy your stuff?

I'll start with listing where I have ordered from: Twojliquid.pl baseliquids, nic (highest is 36mg/ml), FA tobaccos, other flavourings (including malic acid, menthol crystals, Tobacco Absolute), bottles & pipettes. No vaping gear, no pre-mixed liquids. The site is only in Polish...

European DIY people? Where do you buy your stuff?

I recently started vaping and mixing my own liquids, and have found the DIY-forum here very helpful. But it is very US-centric when it comes to discussions about vendors and raw-materials. Which is a bit disappointing to me. With the various "bans" on nic-liquid, advertising etc in...

    Tongue burn

Lyndagayle, you don't mention it, but was this something you only experienced with vaping, never with smoking? I'm still trying to understand why I smoke medium-high nic cigs, but definitely prefer medium-lowish nic when vaping. Everything I've read about absorbtion of nic led me to believe I...

    Vinegar?

Did you need to quote everything just to challenge my terminology??? (phosphoric acid vs phosphorus acid - I have no idea exactly what/which of what looks like a biggish family is used in colas)

Has any of you Vapefreaks used Stevia flavor drops?

What I don't like about that site and those flavoured stevia drops is that they don't say what the medium/carrier is (or what the flavours are). For their unflavoured Stevia they say "purified water", which is ok as far as that goes. (I have no idea how soluble Stevia is in water, or whether...

Can i ask a really stupid question about these online DIY calculators?

I agree with you both, but would perhaps want to nuance or nitpick Wizard's turn of phrase there a bit: It isn't IMO very critical to understand the formulas, but what is critical is to understand the basic proportions of what should be in a juice, and to have a rough idea of what proportions...

    my diy ejuice is horrible

Eh, I still don't get - ahaa! You are writing % above when you mean mg/ml? So you have a liquid that is 6mg/ml nic strength, and 20% flavouring - is this correct? If so, first thing I would do is try again, but with the flavouring really low, like at 3-5%. Edited To Add: Do this while...

    Tongue burn

Oh, and another thing, or a few other things: (I am really verbose today, probably because I want to avoid some chores ) How long since you stopped smoking, or cut down significantly? I am coming up on 7 weeks since I cut down from ~30 to 5-15 a day, and my mouth is getting more...

    Tongue burn

What amount of nic? "Tongue burn" is something I am very familiar with from smoking, and I noticed to my surprise that in vaping it seems to be even more related to nicotine strength than when smoking. Now, nicotine isn't the whole story - I have vaped higher than my normal nic level in...

    Vinegar?

Here's another slightly random thought: I was just reading an old thread How to get carbonation type flavor?, and then I thought of this thread, and the fact that carbonation is actually adding acidity to drinks - in Swedish the colloquial term for CO2 is even "Kolsyra" = carbonic acid (which...

How many ml of flavors will I need monthly ??

To the original poster: I'm new to both mixing and vaping, and very flavour sensitive, so my idea about how many ml flavours you would need is probably useless - you have gotten some good answers here already. What I wanted to say was that a friend of mine was recently on holiday in your...

    my diy ejuice is horrible

Verrry interesting. I just recently experimented with a previous blend by tuning down the flavours used and adding one drop vinegar and one drop 10%EM (in 10ml - yes, I am über cautious), and my first impression was that the vinegar was a mistake. Weird irritating sweetness, my throat liked it...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

This was VG, and aqueous VG at that. Which was probably the problem - I saw in the coffee thread (but noticed it too late) that someone had tried using watered glycerine and ended up with a mess that wouldn't filter at all. I'll make an attempt to decant and measure and test-vape the few drops...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

It will probably work - but whether it will be vapeable is another matter. Cocoa powder is AFAIK fat free, whereas whole cocoa will have fat ("cocoa butter") in it. How soluble that fat is in VG or PG I don't know, but I fear it might be. Cocoa butter in atties or cartos sound like a bad idea...

Decided to make the foray into DIY. How's my list look so far?

I don't see any empty bottles... You will need lots and lots of those, so I hope you already have them or have another source. And syringes for measuring. At least 1 ml (at least a handful) and 10 or 20 ml. A few in between can be handy too (2, 3, 5 ml). Needles are good too, for getting stuff...

Sense of Smell vs Sense of Taste

It's likely that the suggestions you have already gotten here are correct. BUT: You could be like me, some kind of crypto-supertaster. I didn't figure it out until I tested a favourably reviewed juice, that smelled really strongly, and thought it didn't taste much at all. Later that evening I...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

 Never been to the UK, but the black pudding served with breakfast to tourists in Dublin was quite interesting. But clearly in need of some lingonberry. But I feel great affinity for some your weird insular customs - after all I drink instant coffee in the morning  The milk in...

    Finetuning my next blend

I am pretty sure this isn't the case - but you were probably joking? I am still dithering about what to do with the main blend - I seem to be having a "tastebud-crisis" wrt sweetness, so I figured it would be better to wait until that is over before I go mucking around with it anymore...
