A Cool Way to Taste Flavorings

What do you think I am doing in this forum... I was just a bit inspired - but very, very sceptical, by this thread, and this other one, and thought why not dip my tongue in a drop as I was filling up my tank with a new juice. Not really, because with the exception of the nicotine (of which...

A Cool Way to Taste Flavorings

I do so NOT believe in this approach. Inspired by this thread (and another one about people tasting their juices) I just scorched the tastebuds on the tip of my tongue. I had just mixed one well-thought-out juice, and one very improvised, sort-of "slops-bottle". Being impatient I thought I'd...

    Finetuning my next blend

OK, so I think this will be it: 50% VG 40% PG (with nic for a strength of ~13mg/ml) 10% Extract PLUS: 1 drop vinegar, 1 drop M-type, 1 drop 10% EM in PG - or maybe just a "toothpick drop". Making 10ml, and I'll be re-using the bottle from the last blend without washing it out, so I expect some...

    Finetuning my next blend

Okay, now I think I am going crazy - OR my initial idea, pre-steep-induced sweetness, was right: I just fooled around a bit in the kitchen with loads of spirit vinegar, cleaning things by the vinegar-soda method. Great fun. But of course I smelled (=inhaled) quite a lot of vinegar, got it on my...

    Do i have this right?

What do you mean by "60 ml nic"? Do you mean pure nicotine? Or do you mean the more common 60mg/ml solutions of nicotine in PG or VG? Now, PG and VG aren't exactly water, but they are close enough that we can use water's handy dandy correspondences between volume and weight: 1 ml weighs 1...

    Help me read this label

To be precise w/v means "weight/volume", ie weight-unit per volume-unit. That it is given in percent is a bit confusing, but not that uncommon. Now, to get this into units that we are familiar with, we need to keep in mind which weight/volume units correspond: 1 liter of water weighs 1 kg, or...

    The impatient newbie strikes again...

Time for a small update I think: I have detailed my travails with my "Impro" blend here. But I also discovered something interesting yesterday: While thinking about what to do with that juice/recipe, I topped up my carto with the dilution (about 16% extract, no added nic) of my first...

    Finetuning my next blend

Thanks guys! Lyndagayle, I've been thinking about TA (I have mixed myself bottles of PG with TA+EM and a bottle of plain EM, but still haven't used either), but it sort feels weird to use that on a juice where the main component is an actual tobacco extract (albeit a rather amateurish one)...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

Thanks, my4jewels. And good point about suitable vessels, Bostonsnboxers. I didn't have a suitable small bottle, and didn't want to use an open cup, so I used an old spice-bottle with a volume of about 100-120ml. Into that I measured ~20 ml cocoa powder and 20 ml aquous glycerine. This looked...

    Throat Hit Black Pepper

Thanks for resurrecting - I agree, great thread! And it got me thinking, what other spices might one make an infusion/tincture of? How about Rose/Brazilian Pepper? There's something about its taste that sort of makes me think that it might work well vaped. Maybe combined with something...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

I'm about ready to try making some vapeable cocoa, but I just want to ask: When you say "the exact same instructions" as with the coffee, do you really mean that you use as much cocoa powder by volume as you would ground coffee? (iirc about halfway up in a small glass jar, add PG to fill it...

New to DIY, need some suggestions

Hello - I'm a new vaper, and dived directly into DIY because I need to order everything abroad. But I have learned a lot, both the hard way, and from reading this forum (I am slowly reading back the last 100 pages - it's worth it). Since I like writing loooong posts, I'll try to tackle your...

    Cinnamon extraction and cocoa extraction

Please keep us posted on this! But I am curious, isn't the cocoa extraction the least bitter? Every cocoa powder I've ever used (for baking or for real hot chocolate) absolutely *needs* some sugar to be palatable, at least to me. For drinking chocolate (with 1-3% milk) I need at least 1/4...

    Finetuning my next blend

Bumping this - I'd really love to hear some ideas - but I also just discovered that my "Impro" seems to have changed! How dare it!? Here I have been vaping it on and off for about 8-9 days, I take a break from it for just one day, and suddenly the flavour is all different... (Yeah, I'm...

    The impatient newbie strikes again...

Great post, thank you. Just a small quibble: 6.9ml/ml wouldn't be 7%, it would be 0.7%. The nic I use is 36mg/ml, which is 3.6%, 100mg/ml is 10% and so on.

    The impatient newbie strikes again...

If you look in a few other threads in this subforum, you will notice that I am well aware of the immense problems in trying to estimate nicotine content based on either typical values of delivered nicotine per cigarette/portion of snus or the values stated on the packaging. I can't really...

making menthol juice, am i doing it right?

I hadn't read enough when I got my supplies and was itching to do something, so what I did with my menthol crystals is pretty far from the recommendations I have read since. But it worked very well for me, and since I am a bit sensitive to stronger flavours I am very happy I didn't follow any...

    An observation about carto longevity

And this includes tobacco leaves. Wikipedia's section on different methods of curing tobacco is quite interesting in this regard.

    An observation about carto longevity

You didn't ask me, and I have also never used any, so I should keep quiet... Which I am not particularly good at doing... I will probably never use other sweeteners than EM, at least not anything sucralose-based (aka splendex/splenda etc). Simply because it tastes rather vile to me. I...

    The impatient newbie strikes again...

Well thanks for putting the warnings on top of the page in the vernacular. Maybe you should take a look at some of the other threads in this section; it seems to be rather well established that the amounts of nicotine and other alkaloids you can extract through methods like these are very small...
