E-cigs: Not so fast - Tobacco analyst sees slower growth for industry's hottest segment

Well let's face it - tobacco companies aren't consumer electronics companies - and they've been selling essentially the same product, unchanged for decades now - they have no idea how to compete in this rapidly evolving market space (hence the purchase of brands such as Blu and Skycig). They...

E-cigs: Not so fast - Tobacco analyst sees slower growth for industry's hottest segment

I think it's interesting that BT seems to regard e-cigs and vaping as two completely separate things - their intent is to take the lion's share of the cigalike covenience store products (Blu, Njoy etc.) but they seem to regard the mod/PV scene as irrelevant. There's a danger for them that their...

E-cigs: Not so fast - Tobacco analyst sees slower growth for industry's hottest segment

E-cigs: Not so fast It's interesting that BT seems to view e-cigs and vaping as almost unrelated - their interest lies in taking the lion's share of convenience store cigalike purchasing, the mod scene, whilst acknowledged doesn't seem to interest (or concern them) at all.

Oklahoma now has its very own dictator!

Shocking. People like this make me sick: As I've said before, people like Fallin think there's something wrong with us just because we've made lifestyle choices she doesn't respect enough to take the time to fully understand. I'm starting to think that the only way to beat this crap is to...

just for fun, and a question.

The Russian 91% isn't really a 'clone' - it's a copy of the Kayfun with some design tweaks but it's every bit as well constructed as the KF and many of the 'celebrity' vapers such as Pbusardo seem to like it just as much (if not more) than the KF. It's also more expensive than the KF I believe...

    vaping santa not good

I'm really torn on this - years of indoctrination that 'smoking is bad' has got my gut telling me that this advertisement is bad. But. There's no compelling evidence at this time that vaping is bad for you. Think of the ad in the context of a product that's harmless, in a world that...

    What is vaping to you???!!!???

I love smoking - would never have tried to quit if it wasn't for the cost and the health issues - now I'm a vaper I have no intention of quitting vaping - I might lower my nic at some point but I'm not in any hurry.

Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

I think the reason that we're unable to reach agreement here is that we're talking about proportionality: i.e. should all vapers be confined only to vaping in designated smoking areas when some people might experience unpleasant reactions to vapour (including potential allergies to PG...

NYC bans ecigs indoors. The mind boggles.

Somebody posted this quote from Mein Kampf recently: Whilst I wouldn't liken any current regime to that of Nazi Germany, I can't help but be concerned that many of Hitler's methods for manipulating his citizens are alive and well in world leaders today. *Edit* another one to ponder:

Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

From the American Cancer Institute: Awful that your friend's wife suffered the effects of that much exposure to shs :(

    Health Risks

Somebody commented on this (I don't have a link unfortunately) and the suggestion was that it's an automatic response to vapour in the lungs - as such, it happens every time you inhale mist or even steam from your shower. Not saying that there's no risks attached to vaping - there may be...

E-cigarettes: Experts in a conflict of interest?

Courtesy of Marianne Belgique and Google Translate :) E-cigarettes: Experts in a conflict of interest? Sadly I don't speak French and the translation is a little 'Googley':

Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

Certainly there's more freedom of information than there ever has been before, that certainly doesn't mean we're being told the truth though - I find the recent revelations about the NSA and the UK's own GCHQ to be abhorrent and for this information to come into the public eye an American...

Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

Well that's true, but how often has that happened because people have been lied to? I'd never really questioned the whole anti-smoking movement too much because we'd been told that second hand smoke was dangerous - we now know that may not be the case and that much of the anti-smoking regulation...

Vaping quiz on clivebates - please take part!!

    2. If you could choose between two theoretical outcomes for your community by 2020 what would you prefer: a) 20% adults smoking and no vaping? b) 10% adults smoking and 30% vaping? It's basically asking if it's more acceptable (to you) for there to be a 10% reduction in the smoking population...

Dr Farsalinos visit to FDAs Center for Tobacco Products

I'm glad that Dr. F points out how badly messed up the EU legislation is - most of the MEPs that were 'supporting' e-cigs were self-servingly calling it a 'victory'

    Lungs hurting

I'm only two weeks in and I get it too - it was much worse at the beginning but I was sucking vapour into my mouth then doing full lung inhales (as I did with cigarettes) - now I just inhale slightly and blow the vapour out my nose or mouth mostly. If I've really been hitting it, my lungs still...

Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

Great post patkin. The sad truth is that the majority of regulators out there don't want us to vape. They don't want us to smoke either. They don't like people that deviate in any way from the 'norm' - since the 'norm' is something they attempt to dictate, influence and control. People like us...

    Lungs hurting

Also, it's better to do slow, smooth draws with less 'sucking' than trying to get too much from the e-cig too quickly - I draw for 4-5 seconds on a long drag if I need a 'hit' - any longer than that and I'll choke on it :D I take lots of small puffs too but they're more for effect than anything...

    Lungs hurting

Sucking with your cheeks until you have a mouthful of smoke and then either letting it sit there and exhaling or doing a lung/semi lung inhale. I do the first part then inhale just enough to blow the vapour through my nostrils (supposedly more nicotine is absorbed from the vapour through the...
