For me it was two factors - primarily cost but also the associated health issues.
When I had a little more money to spend (seems like a long time ago now :)) I smoked a pack of Marlboro Golds a day, when money got tight I switched to rolling tobacco and in an attempt to keep smoking and save...
Depends whether he wants to quit smoking or nicotine no? One of the big attractions to me about vaping is that I can continue to get my nicotine fix for as long as I want without poisoning myself whilst I do it.
You're more likely to get a positive response from a smoker if you suggest that...
It's awful isn't it? A more permissive attitude towards vaping (in general) could enhance peoples lives so much - anything to make someone's stay in a hospital less traumatic to them could only be a good thing - hopefully someday we'll get there but it's a long way away yet :(
Unfortunately this whole 10ml bottle thing seems to be based on the bad science behind the supposed LD50 (lethal dose) of nicotine - in fact, there's still members of this forum that don't know the 150 year+ precedent for that has since been debunked and that the *actual* lethal dose is...
Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm Technohydra, but the EU situation isn't much of a 'win'.
Whilst things could have been far worse, the EU should have offered vapers and e-cig manufacturers protections - i.e. vetoed medical regulation, defined an appropriate limit on nicotine strengths and...
My only disappointment with that debate was the obvious desire of the government (as opposed to the lords) to continue along the medical regulation route - and the EU ruling has left the door wide open for them to do that.
In the UK at least, the battle to keep vaping in the hands of the vapers...
I agree with Mantrid9 - owners of establishments should be free to set their own rules regarding vaping and see what works for their customers - if that means no vaping or separate vaping areas then that's their choice and as vapers either we're happy with that or we go somewhere else...
Just vape through it :) you don't have to vape the way you smoked cigarettes - vape as much as you need to if you have cravings (although if they persist, a higher nic level might help for those times).
I'm 10 days smoke-free now and I still get the urge for a roll-up but instead I puff away...
A lot has been said recently about the 'denormalization' of smoking and for those that weren't aware it's become very clear that a lot of the anti-smoking measures that have been enforced over the years are nothing to do with health concerns but to reduce and/or eliminate smoking as a choice...
Gotta agree with what everyone's saying here - she's a smoker - she's knows the kind of hit you get from a cigarette if you haven't smoked in a while - if the e-cig you get her doesn't have it then she'll still be craving cigarettes.
She's an adult and whilst you obviously care very much, what...
That's a shame - for me, the real importance of cigalikes is to get people interested - hopefully they'll see the potential even if their first experience isn't a roaring success and they'll find people and/or sites such as this to help them find a better product for them.
Personally, I'm...
I don't see anything negative about calling these things e-cigs - it's pretty much burned into the public conciousness now anyway. As an ex-smoker, I'm not ashamed of my old habit and I don't feel bad that e-cigs are associated by name with it. In fact, though I'm now a 'vaper' I still consider...
Hey everyone! New vaper here, one week into quitting the analogs and I thought I'd give a little review of the Green Smoke kit I've been using. I know GS have been reviewed here before (and that some forum members aren't keen on cigalikes) but I've been sufficiently impressed that I've stuck...
Completely agree - at worst EU should have classed e-cigs as tobacco products thereby ensuring that they could be purchased in all EU member states in the same places people can currently buy tobacco. The proposed legislation allows individual EU states to 'make it up as they go' and still...
Well, they're voting on whether to adopt it or not today so I guess we'll have to see what happens...
The general consensus of even the 'supportive' MEPs seems to have been 'well, you were always going to lose some freedoms' - I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can see...
Glad you got good CS :)
The USB Cigarette that came with my Green Smoke kit was a little twitchy (poor vape, didn't always activate) and they responded to my email immediately and mailed out a new one the same day - been very happy with their CS too!
Grats on beginning your adventures in vaping :)
Hey! And thanks! :)
The problem is that the ruling only limits choice for EU customers - the situation is this:
Individual member states are free to declare e-cigs as medicines if they so wish.
Max dose is 20mg/1ml with carto sizes capped at 1ml.
Member states are free to ban refillables and...
