    Yeah, I wouldn't use a lighter to try and clean wicks - been there, done that and they just end up a black, sooty, foul-tasting mess :D Isopropyl will certainly dissolve some of the crud out of an eGo atty though so that's worth a shot. Good luck!

    I haven't noticed a metallic taste at all (although that may just be me) - the tutorial I watched advised oxidising the wicks at least three times with a blow torch (I used a gas hob) and then dripping some e-liquid on them and letting that burn - I used 400 grade mesh if that's of any use :)
