On the Kangertech site they're showing them for PT2 and 3 - may not be in stores yet though - that price seems a little high too - they're selling here in the UK for £4 ($6.60) - usually our vape gear works out considerably more expensive than yours
Great! Please post the results of your experiments! :)
Here's a nice video for people just starting to recoil their ProTanks - it's not a 'proper' microcoil (Candi doesn't torch and tweeze it to get the coils properly snug) but it's a nice, friendly introduction :)
The ProTank design has a reputation for inconsistency - some users have no issues, others just can't get it to perform to their expectations/likings. There's some QC issues on the part of Kanger in its replacement heads but it doesn't help that it's one of the most cloned designs out there.
As...
The Aero - it effectively is a PT2 (only you can use dual-coils in it if you wish like the PT3) with a nicer look (IMO) and the airflow control.
If you already have a PT2/3 though and want the airflow control, buying that base above is cheaper than buying a whole new tank.
From my own experience, with an unmodified head the PT performs best with 2/3 - 1/3 liquid in it - fill it too full and it can gurgle and leak - let it drain too much and it can gurgle and leak. It performs differently depending on the thickness of the liquid too (and temperature can change...
Nothing wrong with the VV3 at all - it's a very nice piece of kit - the MVP (and particularly the VTR) hit a little harder power-wise and of course, the MVP has terrific battery life but the VV3 is a solid choice for people coming off of cigalikes or switching from an eGo-type battery - delivers...
Actually, blowing through the mouthpiece creates airflow that will draw liquid into the wicks and blow it out the bottom of the PT - if you blow (or suck) for long enough you'll empty the tank :D
Best way to clear the airway after filling is to hold the tank up (without the base) and blow hard...
ProVape have more than enough expertise to develop their own proprietary system to rival the DNA 20 and they're not going to want any future mod they make to have to compete with a number of other mods that all perform identically.
If and when we see a ProVari 3, it'll have whatever...
I like the LavaTube, and if I was in the market for an attractive, sturdy, 33.3hz tube mod I'd probably pick one up but:
a) Equivalent performance is cheaper in the Chinese mods
b) *much* cheaper from FastTech
c) 33.3's are more 'workhorses' than desirables such as the ProVari and DNA 20...
Lol! Funny :D Incidentally, have you noticed Kanger now promises to replace all DOA heads? From Kangertech.com:
If you really want better QC from Kanger, start sending those dud heads in!!
That's a 4-page PDF that doesn't have anything more than the proposed moratorium on it.
*Edit* this report has more information on the moratorium, starting on page 42.
They're just parroting this crap everywhere
*Edit 2* This is the Dec 17th report with the offending paragraph...
For those that didn't know, Kanger have released the AeroTank's base as a standalone airflow controller so you can turn any PT 2/3 into an AeroTank - they're pretty cheap too - $5 or so I think :)
You can pull the little metal plug on the bottom of the ProTank head out a tiny bit to see if that helps it make contact with the LavaTube - be careful though because:
a) it may cause leaks if you pull it too far.
b) if you pull it out altogether you'll free the positive lead and may end up...
