    I swear by these rcr123a batteries that I use in my buzz original. They seem to last much longer than my 2 sets of protected ultrafires (which should last longer...:confused:). If you do not feel safe using em though, don't take the risk =)

    Unprotected batteries can be alright also depending on their chemistry. The chance of explosion for unprotected batteries is small anyway, if you don't do things like over-drain or overcharge.
